Our March 2017 Tinker Crate theme was “Spin Art Machine” and included instructions and materials to build our own right at home.

Box Note
I feel like I should mention that not all new subscribers will receive the most current Tinker Crate box.  I am not sure if this was the newest one or one that had been sent in a previous month, but it was new to us.

B (my husband) and L (our 8-year-old) worked on this one together (his 4-year-old brother “helped” a little as well) .  Unlike some of the Tinker Crate projects, L didn’t need much grownup assistance with this one.  I’d say he did 95% himself and B did about 5%.

All we needed from home for this project was scissors!

I’d guess it took 20-30 minutes to build this?  As I mentioned L did most of it himself and needed minimal assistance! The boys were all so into making their spin art that I couldn’t get any “in-action” pictures. Heck, they barely let me take a picture of the finished pieces. Just so you can get an idea of how it works, I am attaching the Tinker Crate video from their YouTube channel.  If you ever get stuck in one of their steps, they have all the projects / tutorials on their channel which is super helpful.

These turned out great!  I don’t think you can go wrong with spin art.  We did end up with a little paint on the table, but it cleaned up with a little water – no stains!
