I have been eyeing Cozy Reader Club for a long time now and finally decided to take the plunge this month. I knew going in that it wasn’t going to be a “value” subscription, but it’s a box I see pictures of and wish I would have ordered.
The April 2017 Cozy Reader Club included the following items:
~Miss You, by Kate Eberlen ($15.53): Cozy Reader seems to choose books I would end up selecting for myself. They are “light” reads and I can’t wait to get started on this one. The weather is warming up and I look forward to a relaxing night on the patio getting to know Tess and Gus ;).
Description from Goodreads:
Tess and Gus are meant to be. They just haven’t met properly yet. And perhaps they never will . . .
Today is the first day of the rest of your life is the motto on a plate in the kitchen at home, and Tess can’t get it out of her head, even though she’s in Florence for a final, idyllic holiday before university. Her life is about to change forever – but not in the way she expects.
Gus and his parents are also on holiday in Florence. Their lives have already changed suddenly and dramatically. Gus tries to be a dutiful son, but longs to escape and discover what sort of person he is going to be.
For one day, the paths of an eighteen-year-old girl and boy criss-cross before they each return to England.
Over the course of the next sixteen years, life and love will offer them very different challenges. Separated by distance and fate, there’s no way the two of them are ever going to meet each other properly . . . or is there?
~Verve Coffee Roasters, Street Level ($15): The current version of Street Level has “strong caramelized fruit character and zesty punch that speaks to its Central American components”. I am going to let B (my husband) take this to work with him because they go through way more coffee at his work than we do at home.
~Travis Treasure Box, Cable Mug Cozy ($12): This is handmade and will fit lots of different mug sizes. I prefer larger mugs, but this stretches no problem!
~Love Maude, Bookmark ($12): This is so pretty that I thought it was a headband! The felt part is 6 inches long and the back has an elastic band. It was hand designed and hand sewn as well. Cute!
~Claires Squares, Buttery Shortbread Squares ($6): Anytime something has “Buttery” in the name you know it’s going to be good! These are no exception. They are thick cookie made with real butter and no artificial ingredients.
~Addie and George, Coffee Mug ($16): I love this mug and I LOVE the quote on it. If you can’t see the picture, it says “Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.” Perfect for this box right?
All totaled I came up with a value of $76.53 for the April 2017 Cozy Reader Club. That’s just slightly over the cost of the box, but as I mentioned I get this box for the curation and not necessarily for the value. They have amazing good selections (totally my taste) and also support a lot of small businsses by including them in the box.
