GlobeIn has two box themes this month – Sustain and Eco-To-Go.  This review is on the Sustain box. You can check out my Eco-To-Go Box review here.

The April 2017 GlobeIn Artisan Box “Sustain” themed box included the following items:

~Recycled Glass TumblerPalestinian Territories (Retail $34.99): It’s quite possible that this is the most gorgeous piece we’ve ever received from GlobeIn.  I gasped when I opened it.  It is made from recycled bottles that are smashed into pieces and melted in high-temperature ovens.  Highly skilled artisans add various materials to the molten glass which creates a range of colors within each piece.  It is food safe so it can be used as a drinking glass, but I think it would be even better as a candleholder.

~Kaisa Basket BowlBangladesh (Retail $10.99): This bowl was made from natural kaisa grass which is hand-woven in Bangladesh.  Dhaka Handicrafts, who produced this bowl, brings fair trade to the weaving artisans of rural Bangladesh.  The artisans are paid fair wages and are also set up with a savings plan to encourage self-reliance.

~Air Plant, Japan (Retail $6.99): This airplant does best in sunlight and needs to be sprayed with water just 1-3 times per week.  Urban Green Makers, the company behind the airplant, partners with environmental organizations to provide tools and to teach people in areas in need how to plant trees.

~Upcycled Bell, India (Retail $12): This bell is made from recycled tin and iron sheets.  I don’t know that we’ve ever received a bell in a subscription box so this is very unique.  If you can’t think of a place to display/use this in your house, why not try it as a Christmas ornament.  I think it would be amazing on a tree!

~GlobeIn Greeting Card, 6×4″ (Retail $3): All GlobeIn boxes also now include a greeting card. This is more of a print than a greeting card, but I suppose you could send it as a postcard.

~Shop Soko $25 OFF Card: The box also included a coupon code for $25 off your $80+ Shop Soko purchase.  Shop Soko offers jewelry handcrafted by 1800+ artisans in Kenya and helps them to build their businesses, improve production capacity, and sustainably increase income.

All totaled the April 2017 GlobeIn Artisan Box “Sustain” had a value of about $68.  I think the Eco-To-Go box was more my style this month (if I were a subscriber that is the box I would have selected for myself), but I really do love that bell and the gorgeous glass!

What do you think of GlobeIn? If you are interested in subscribing, you can head over to their site and get signed up. Don’t forget that new customers can use the coupon code “WELCOME” to save $10 off their first month of a 3-month subscription to GlobeIn Artisan Box.
