ipsy Review - April 2017
ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

ipsy

ipsy ships around the 10th of the month via DHL Global Mail. I expect to receive my package a week after they ship. I have no idea how I lucked into getting this one so quickly.

There is a ton of variation in ipsy bags, so they don’t include product details on their information card. If you happen to stumble on this review, don’t be surprised if you end up with an entirely different bag. Specific details on the items in your bag can be found in your ipsy account online.

The April 2017 ipsy theme is sideshow, and my Glam Bag included the following items:

~The Bag: How fun is this?  ipsy has for sure been getting more and more creative with their bags over the years.  This one looks like a raffle (carnival?) ticket.  It kind of reminded me of a movie ticket too?  It’s not the bold red I was expecting.  It’s more of a salmon red – just like the traditional rolls of raffle tickets.

~Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush ($4.99): YES!  This is clearly not the fanciest blush brush out there, but I am thrilled!  I mean, it’s Lisa Frank, and it has unicorns on it.   What else is there really to say?

~Luseta Beauty Volume Reviving Dry Shampoo in Potpourri (1.69oz) ($1.12):  Good stuff.  I know people get annoyed to get so many dry shampoos in boxes, but I love getting it.  It takes away oil and doesn’t leave a messy residue.  You do need to spray like 8 inches away – don’t get right up in your roots and start spraying or you will end up with white stuff all over your hairline.

~Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser (1oz) ($4.41): I don’t know that I have ever gotten skinfix in an ipsy before?  I hope it’s a new trend.  I also received this in the March Target Beauty Box and loved it!  It’s 97.5% natural and contains no sulfates, synthetic fragrance, silicones, gluten, dairy, dyes, parabens or phthalates

~OFRA Cosmetics Peach Blush (4g) ($15): Uhh, how gorgeous is this?  Peach is a “flirty, warm-toned flush,” but that description does it no justice.  It makes you GLOW.  It’s shimmery, but not glittery and it’s absolutely beautiful.

~Ciaté London Mini Bamboo Bronzer in Palm Island (0.1oz) ($8): This bronzer is surprisingly dark.  I think it *might* be too dark for me, but we’ll see this summer after some self-tanner.

~Swatches:

All totaled I came up with a value of $33.52 for the April 2017 ipsy.  While that is over 3x the cost of the bag, it’s not even considered an amazing value for ipsy.  I am happy with it though and am extra excited about that Lisa Frank brush ;).
