Julep ships via FedEx Smart Post out of Ohio and tends to take just a few days to arrive to me. You make your selections for the box between the 20th and 25th of the month, and you can expect to receive your box in the first few days of the next month.
The day after the deadline for this box I realized that I never went in and customized mine. That’s not normally such a huge deal, but Julep re-released their amazing Sea Salt Texture Spray this month, and it wasn’t included in my box. Total fail on my part!
The May 2017 Julep theme was “Sun Crush” and included the following items:
~Julep No Excuses ($22.40 / $28): No Excuses is an invisible sunscreen gel that provides protection of SPF40. While this isn’t something I would have selected for myself, it’s something I absolutely need. It’s lightweight and seems to leave my skin silky smooth.
~Julep Marina (Classic With A Twist) ($11.20 / $14): Marina is a Royal Raspberry Matte Shimmer. Now, this a color I would have selected for myself. The formula is perfect, and two coats will make this just the deep raspberry shade it looks like in the bottle. I was so excited about this I somehow spilled some of it while I was taking pictures. Oops!
~Julep Channon (It Girl) ($11.20 / $14): Channon is a Water Lily White Matte Shimmer. It’s growing on me. I don’t “need” another white polish and wouldn’t have picked it for my box, but now that I have it, I’m going to use it. It’s slightly shimmery and has just a hint of cream in it, so it’s not bright white.
~Swatches: The white doesn’t show up well, but there are also swatches of it on the Julep site.
All totaled my May 2017 Julep had a value of $44.80 (that’s using Maven pricing). I am much more pleased with my box in person than I was when I previewed it online. I am still going to get that Sea Salt Spray when they offer it in their shop though!
