Stitch Fix Review - May 2017
Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for women. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Stitch Fix is now offering exchanges for sizing as well. Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on, and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix shipped via FedEx this month and took just a few days to arrive. Stitch Fix ships from a few different warehouse locations in the US and shipping varies between USPS and FedEx.

I don’t do the best job of filling out my checkout form and reviewing the pieces I get, but I do have my Stitch Fix blog reviews linked in my profile which I think helps a lot. I asked for some workout pieces in this month’s FIX (I’ve never requested that before) and was anxious to see her picks for me.

My May 2017 Stitch Fix (Fix #45) included the following items:

~Rezeloot Strenga Contrast Mesh Knit Top ($48): This sort of cute in the box, but when I tried it on? Nope. A HUGE nope. It seemed tight across the bust, but the arm holes were huge. I did like the length, but that’s about it. I absolutely could NOT bring myself to post a picture of me wearing it (it was so bad on me), but I tossed it on over a gray tank top I would actually wear, and you can see the difference in the size of the arm holes. I also wasn’t a huge fan of all the mesh cutouts. Verdict: Returned.

~Honey Punch Tinah Striped Hooded Cardigan ($54): I could not love this more. It’s totally me and I love the fit. It has a hood (YES!) and was cozy, without being sloppy. The cardigan is lightweight so I can toss it on after the gym or on a chilly Spring night. Verdict: Kept.

~goodhYOUman Kendrick Legging ($68): These are basically your standard pair of leggings, but I love them. They are black and have a wide gray yoga waistband. I found them comfortable, flattering and I love them! The legs are 87% nylon and 13% spandex (the waistband is 45% nylon, 45% polyester, and 10% spandex), so they have a slight compression feel to them, but nothing too crazy. Verdict: Kept.

~MPG Sport emmy Color Block Legging ($58): There is a lot going on with these capris, but I think I like them! My husband loved them. They are lighter in color than what I would normally pick for a legging, but because they have so much going on, I think that’s okay. Verdict: Kept.

~ModRef Kiara Hooded Knit Top ($38): I love the price on this, but it just wasn’t for me. It’s super comfortable, but it was too big and the contrast in lengths between the front and the back was too much. I also didn’t love the color. Verdict: Returned.

Had I kept everything in my fix it would have been $179.50. I just added up the pieces I want to keep (the two leggings and the cardigan), and it comes up to $180. So now I basically need to keep everything! It’s $0.50 cheaper and *hopefully* I can sell/trade the shirt and the tank on the Stitch Fix Facebook group. Or I will try to exchange the top for a smaller size and donate the tank. Either way, it’s clearly a better deal to keep everything, and I am glad I did the math before sealing my return bag!
