Sports Crate MLB Subscription Review (Detroit Tigers) - June 2017
Sports Crate will send you 5-7 officially-licensed, team-specific items every month that you can’t get anywhere else, including gear, collectibles and a whole lot more.  Crates will be delivered monthly during the baseball season (May – September).  Subscribers may also find a “Golden Ticket” in their box, which wins you a VIP experience (Ride the bus with your favorite team, attend batting practice, sit next to your favorite player or throw out the first pitch) with your selected team.

Sports Crate
Cost: $39.99/month.
Ships To: United States
Coupon Code: N/A

Sports Crate shipped via FedEx Smart Post and, once shipped, took about a week to arrive. It shipped much later than normal and instead of receiving it mid-June (which is when I *think* it should arrive) I received it on July 7th.  The May box shipped late as well and I really am hoping this isn’t going to be an on-going thing.

I was pretty happy with this first look!

The front of the information card is designed to look like a ticket, and it includes product details, a Sports Crate welcome, and information on their Golden Tickets.  The June 2017 Detroit Tigers “Behind The Dish” Sports Crate included the following items:

~James McCann Action Figure: This month’s BALLERS action figure features the catcher from your selected team.  My team is the Detroit Tigers, so I received James McCann.  BALLERS figures feature 21 points of articulation, so you can bend and pose them however you like.  I can’t really explain why, but these just don’t do it for me.  I am sure some people love them, but I personally would prefer fewer points of articulation and more of a true bobblehead look?

~The Home Opener Bottle Opener and Coaster: Genius!  Why didn’t I have a coaster with a built in bottle opener before now?  The bottom features a light foam padding with the Sports Crate logo while the top includes your team logo.  I would call these a must for any sports fan.

~Frosted Novelty Glasses: Let’s just call these what they are – shot glasses!    Unless my children are using them.  Then we will call them tiny glasses.  One side features your team logo while the other features the Sports Crate logo.

~Tigers Barbecue Mitt: Another love!  It’s a glove style barbecue mitt, and again, another sports fan must have.  It has front and back glove details, but you can use it on either hand to fit your preference. Your glove *might* look backward, but it doesn’t matter!

~Topps Trading Card: This card marks #2 of 5 from the Sports Crate card series.  It’s a Topps exclusive and takes me back to years of collecting baseball cards with my brother.

~Tigers Flag: I don’t know where I will hang this, but I like it.  It’s big and dual-sided.  I don’t know if we’ve ever gotten a flag in a subscription box, so I think this is great!

I loved the June 2017 Sports Crate, but the shipping needs to improve!  I am hoping they can get it under control so that my last box of the season doesn’t arrive in November.
