ipsy Review - August 2017
ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

ipsy
Cost: $10/month
Ships To: United States and Canada including overseas military installations via DHL.
Coupon Code: N/A

ipsy ships around the 10th of the month via DHL Global Mail.

Subscribers this month either received the traditional pink mailer or a gold mailer.  I received the gold, which means I am now part of their test group for some new ipsy Shop offers!

ipsy bags have a ton of variation, so they don’t include product details on their information card. If you happen to stumble on this review, don’t be surprised if you end up with an entirely different bag. Specific details on the items in your bag can be found in your ipsy account online.

The August 2017 ipsy theme is “good vibes only, ” and my Glam Bag included the following items:

~Firma Beauty 103 Angled Contour Brush ($14.99):  This angled brush will allow you to “contour your face and cheekbones with the greatest of ease.”  The bristles are soft and cruelty-free.  If you aren’t into contouring, use it to brush the excess powder off your skin.

~Promise Organic Nourishing Coconut Milk Facial Lotion (14mL) ($4.20): This facial lotion revitalizes and brightens skin. It smells fantastic and felt great on my skin.

~Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara (2mL) ($6): I received this mascara in this month’s GLOSSYBOX as well.  It just launched, and they are doing a great job getting the word out. LOL!  I liked the formula of this one, but I didn’t think it felt my lashes “big” enough.  It’s not a bad mascara, but I think the name just had me expecting more.

~Naked Cosmetics HD Finishing Translucent Powder (0.35oz) ($14.99): I *think* this is the full-size, but I am not certain (the naked cosmetics website doesn’t list the product sizes).  It’s a translucent powder that helps to “set” your makeup. You can also use it reduce skin, even out skin tone, etc.  As others have mentioned, the scent is strong, but it the job well.

~Pacifica Coconut Blush Duo (8g) (~$20): This blush contains two shades –  Beaming, a muted /terracotta and Tenderheart, a soft mauve.  This doesn’t appear to be sold as a set (an ipsy exclusive perhaps), so I had to estimate the price.  It’s a buildable blush, so if you aren’t finding the colors deep enough for you at first – keep building!  I found the blushes to be silky smooth and, with all Pacifica products, these are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

~The Bag:  I love this month’s bag!  I know some people had some issues with the print placement, but my “Wild & Free” looks pretty centered.  I love the tassel zipper pull too!

All totaled my August 2017 ipsy had a value of $60.18.  That’s an outstanding value, and this bag was a great fit for me.
