~Good evening! We had a busy weekend! The boys were up-north with my mom, so B and I went to the Lions preseason game on Friday night. I don’t know what else to say about that other than it’s going to be a long season for the Lions. LOL! Also, if you are headed to an NFL game, make sure to read the bag policy. I brought my yellow wallet / clutch from the #NGQ06 box, which worked perfect (I get so much use out of that thing), but tons of ladies brought their regular bags and were having to check them – for $10. OUCH!
~L (our 9-year-old) had been wanting to climb the big dune at the Sleeping Bear Dunes, so that’s what we did on Saturday after we drove up-north. At the last minute, W (he’s 5) decided he wanted to climb too (instead of staying at the top with my mom), so off we all went! The sign at the top warns it could take 2 hours to make your way back to the top so we were prepared for a long climb, but they did AMAZING. W and I make it up in – no joke – 20 minutes. He’s so low to the ground and so light that he doesn’t slide back down when he climbs like everyone else. L loved it and I am pretty sure he wants to make this an annual tradition. Which is fine with me since the views are so incredible from there.
~Is anyone planning on watching the VMA’s tonight? I like the VMA’s because you never know exactly what will happen, but I don’t think they are as amazing as they used to be. Or maybe it’s because I am old(er) now??
~Did you know that Starbucks is closing their online store? I read on POPSUGAR that it will close on 10/1, but right now they have tons of tumblers and mugs on sale for 50% off! Maybe a good time to stock up on some holiday gifts??
That’s it from here! Have a great night!
Today we were supposed to get everything prepared for Monday’s back to school, but due to Harvey the kids are having one more week of vacations and starting on September 5th ? My kids are excited of course, what they do not know is that it means one more week in school after the regular end of the year scheduled date ?.
Harvey did not treat us so bad in the area we live (Houston) but it was crazy ? I hope that with everybody help the city/people will recover soon.
I have been watching the news and it looks so bad in Houston! I am glad you guys are okay!!! Are stores / gas stations or anything by you open?
On Friday it was crazy. stores were empty and a lot of gas stations were out of gas, yesterday morning I went to traders and they had water bottles and a ton of non perishable food (they got it over night) and gas stations had gas again, today we did not go out at all, we talked to some of our neighbors and it looks like around us it was not that bad, and some stores were open, tonight is still raining and it looks like it will continue until tuesday/wednesday 🙁
I hope people in the city is safe tonight and that tomorrow we have a better and less rainy day.
How are you??????
