ipsy Review - September 2017
ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $10 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $10.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

ipsy
Cost: $10/month
Ships To: United States and Canada including overseas military installations via DHL.
Coupon Code: N/A

ipsy ships around the 10th of the month via DHL Global Mail.  Mine arrived very early this month!

ipsy bags have a ton of variation, so they don’t include product details on their information card. If you happen to stumble on this review, don’t be surprised if you end up with an entirely different bag. Specific details on the items in your bag can be found in your ipsy account online.

The September 2017 ipsy theme is “Like.A.Boss, ” and my Glam Bag included the following items:

~Nomad Cosmetics Multi-Perfection Illuminating Bronzer Duo in Principessa (.07oz) (~$5): I had to guess at this price because it’s not sold individully on the site.  This shimmery duo works to give you a sun kissed glow OR as an eyeshadow.  Because they are so shimmery, I like them better (for me) as shadows.  Nice pigment and gorgeous colors.

~M·A·C Strobe Cream in Pinklite (6mL) ($2.40): Yaaass!!!  MAC in subscription boxes is fairly new, and I love it!  This strobe cream gives dull skin a boost, and you don’t need to use a lot!  A little dab does wonders.

~Hanalei Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser (5g) ($7.14): The Papaya Enzyme Powder Cleanser is water activated and removes impurities while leaving your face bright and soft.  These are on the expensive side, but the individual packets are incredible for traveling and help you use just the right amount.  And if you are anything like me, this could save you money in the long-term as I tend to overuse products.

~ColourPop Cosmetics Brow Boss in (Dark Brown) (.1g) ($5) :Subscribers received this in either light brown or dark brown. I received the dark brown.  Eyebrow pencils aren’t a subscription box item I love getting (I rarely do anything with my brows), but this would get the job done.  The price point is perfect too!

~re:p, real elemental practice Bio Fresh Mask with Real Calming Herb (20mL) ($6.31): This soothing clay mask calms irritated skin and reduce redness and inflammation. I love it!  It’s gentle, but it worked well to calm my skin. Also important to note, this is free of mineral oil, sorbic acid, animal ingredients, surfactants, parabens, mineral oil and propylene glycol.

~The Bag: This month’s bag is one of my favorite ipsy bags ever.  It could easily double as a clutch for a night out.  I love the texture and the blue interior was a fun surprise.

~Swatches:

All totaled the September 2017 ipsy had a value of $25.85.  That’s a fairly low value for ipsy (even though it’s over 2x the cost of the bag), but enjoyed this month.  It was a really nice mix of goodies and that’s always fun.
