My October 2017 Wise Apple included the following lunches:

~Turkey Wrap:  The Turkey Wrap included turkey, provolone cheese and lettuce on a whole wheat wrap.  Also included were grape tomatoes & crackers (similar to wheat thins), green apple slices and a veggie brownie (it has sweet potato in it).  With the exception of the grape tomatoes (which I knew my boys wouldn’t eat), this lunch was a hit!  I didn’t mention to L (my 9-year-old) that it was a veggie brownie and he never said a word either.  That’s a win!

~Turkey & Cheese Please: The Turkey & Cheese Please included slices turkey, sliced cheddar cheese, grape tomatoes & crackers (similar to wheat thins), green apple slices and yogurt pretzels.  I sent this one to school with my 5-year-old (who is a very picky eater) and hoped for the best. I knew he wouldn’t finish it all, but he ate some of the cheese, turkey, crackers, apples, and pretzels.  Like his brother, he skipped the tomatoes.

~Ready for Spaghetti: Ready for Spaghetti includes spaghetti & meatballs, crispy green pea fries, grapes and banana chips + banana pudding.  I knew my boys wouldn’t eat cold spaghetti, so I tried this one myself.  And loved it.  I am not the best at describing serving sizes, but I would estimate the pasta to be about 3/4 cup (it’s 5.16oz).  It tasted like real, homemade spaghetti and not like it came out of a can.  I was impressed with this!

To give you an idea on size, on the left is a prepackaged meal purchased at the grocery store.  It totals 2.9oz.  All combined, the food in the Ready for Spaghetti Please meal totals 10.74oz (spaghetti: 5.16oz, grapes: 2.47oz, crispy green pea fries: 0.71oz and banana chips with banana pudding: 2.4oz).

~Chick Chick Hooray: Chick Chick Hooray includes Chicken Dippers, Baby Carrots w/ Yogurt Ranch, Veggie Brownie and an applesauce dipping sauce (it tasted to me like it has BBQ sauce in it, but that’s not listed on the ingredients).  This is another one that I kept here for myself as I knew it would be a miss with my boys.  I thought the chicken tasted fresh and the sauce was delicious – way better than I was expecting.

~Pita Pizza: Our final lunch was Pita Pizza, which included Pita Pizza, Crispy Green Pea Fries, Apples & SunButter Dip and a Chocolate Chip Cookie.  L (my 9-year-old) took this one to school and said he liked everything except for the SunButter. I think he was expecting it to be peanut butter!

Wise Apple Review + Coupon Code - October 2017Wise Apple absolutely made packing lunch easier.  I do think it’s a little expensive (I would love to see a $5/meal price point), but it is super convenient and high-quality.  Also, I didn’t mention it, but each of the little pods the food come in are the same size and can be removed from the cardboard. This allows you to mix and match your own meals which I love!

What do you think of Wise Apple?  If you are interested in ordering, you can use coupon code “SUBBOX20” to save $20 off your first delivery.  That brings the cost of a week down to $21.86 (including the tax on shipping) or $4.37/meal.  I think that’s more than worth it and it’s a great way to try the service!

Spread the love

This looks like a great idea but its not really enough food for my boys. They eat a ton at lunch and like yours they won’t eat some of those items cold. I’m thinking this would be great for summer when we could dig in and warm some of the items up and divvy up who eats what. I do like this for people whose kids maybe aren’t as picky as mine or who want to do healthier meals but just don’t have the time. Good idea.
