The Winter 2017 Merkaela theme was “Wisdom” and included the following items:

~Meditation Incense: This incense is handmade in Nepal using traditional Lotka paper.  Lotka is a small woody plant which grows at over 6,000 feet in the Himalayas.  Because it’s a renewable resource, it provides a source of income to paper crafting families and village communities.

~Merkaela Ylang Ylang Body Butter (4oz):  A blend of ylang-ylang, frankincense and rose essential oils make up this rich body butter.  It’s all-natural and chemical-free, and the scent is supposed to help foster feelings of self-love and appreciation.  It smells lighter than it sounds, which I think is a good thing.

~Merkaela Bentonite Clay Mask (2oz): The Bentonite Clay Mask comes from volcanic ash and helps to draw out impurities.  I mixed mine with water, but you could also mix it with yogurt, milk, honey, etc.

~Merkaela Chamomile Tea Potion (12-14tsp): This tea contains an infusion of Egyptian Chamomile, St. John’s Wort and Anise to help you sip your stress away.

~Merkaela Calendula Body Exfoliator (2oz): The Calendula Body Exfoliator buffs and polishes skin while also hydrating your skin. It wasn’t irritating, and I found the smell to be refreshing.

~Gratitude Card: I thought this was very fitting for the upcoming holidays!

~Merkaela Woodspice Bar Soap: The Woodspice Soap is a mixture of spicy cinnamon and cozy woodspice.  My husband loved this scent and thought it was a great change of pace from all the floral soaps we have been getting.

~Lotus Bodhi Mala Bracelet: The final item in the box was the Lotus Bodhi Mala Bracelet. Malas are traditionally used during meditation with each bead representing an intention or a prayer of the heart.  The beads change with age as they absorb the oils of the skin and turn a darker shade.

These are all Merkaela branded items and are not available in their shop so I can’t do a price breakdown.  They always put together such a thoughtful, well-curated box with high-quality products and I think it’s worth it!
