Birchbox offers 4-6 (sometimes more) hand-picked beauty and lifestyle samples, delivered to your door each month. I have been subscribing to Birchbox for over five years now and would say they are one of the most (maybe the most) well-known subscription boxes out there. They are certainly one of the longest lasting boxes.

Birchbox ships via USPS and all boxes generally ship by the 10th of the month.

This review is on the regular May 2018 Birchbox.  The May 2018 Curated Birchbox is also available in the shop.

My May 2018 Birchbox included the following items:

~Matrix Total Results Mega Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner (1.7oz each) ($4.44): This shampoo and conditioner worked and left my hair feeling clean and smooth, but I didn’t think it was anything special.  It’s not something I would seek out and repurchase on my own.

~Nyakio Kenyan Coffee Face Polish (0.5oz) ($4): This coffee scrub not only sloughs off dead skin, but it also has brightening, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory benefits.  I loved the smell and the way my skin felt after using it.   It exfoliated my skin without being harsh or drying.

~Hanalei Lip Treatment (5g) ($6.67): This is very hydrating and very thick.  A little goes a LONG way, and I found this to work great as an overnight treatment.

~[ comfort zone ] Remedy Cream to Oil Ultra Gentle Cleanser (15mL) ($3.45): This face wash combines the benefits of both cream and oil cleansers.  My skin felt clean and soft, and I liked that this is a 97% natural formula and doesn’t contain any potential irritants like mineral oil, parabens, or silicones.

All totaled I came up with a value of about $18 for my May 2018 Birchbox.   After last month’s box, I feel a little underwhelmed with this one.  It’s okay, but there were no showstoppers for me in here.
