Eeek! I could not wait to dig into this! I have done dermaplaning in the past and was super anxious to see how this at home tool would compare.
The Influenster “DETMAFLASH” VoxBox included the following items:
~DERMAFLASH 2.0 Luxe Facial Exfoliation and Peach Fuzz Removal Device ($189): The DERMAFLASH is an at-home dermaplaning device. If you are not familiar with dermaplaning, it is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a 10 gauge scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dulling dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. I have had it done professionally in the past and have been thrilled with the results. It gets rid of the peach fuzz at the same time it scraps of the dead skin cells. I think people get a little scared because it is basically shaving your face, but your hair does NOT grow back thicker or darker or anything like that. In fact, I never even notice when it is growing back in.
Professional dermaplaning runs $69 at the skincare center I go to, so this tool would pay for itself after three uses (or two if you are a generous tipper).
The box includes the tool itself along with a charger.
In order to charge the device, you need to remove the blade. It is super simple to remove – it just pops off when you press the button!
As per the instructions, I used the Preflash and then patted my face dry. It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to do my entire face and I loved the results. It was JUST LIKE having it done professionally! A few notes – your skin may feel oily after you use this (or get it done professionally) and might be a little red. I am not an expert (clearly), but I think it is because the oil/dirt isn’t trapped in your peach fuzz like it was before? You will notice that your makeup glides on smoothly after this and your skin basically just glows! I will probably use this once every three weeks or so – it has been about a week since I used it and my skin is as just as smooth as the day I used it.
~DERMAFLASH The Essentials (Included in Kit. $29 for Refill Kits): The kit includes The Essentials which is Preflash (a cleanser), Postflash (a moisturizer) and replacement blades. For sanitary purposes, you need to replace the blades after EACH use. Blades work out to about $6.50/each and I will just consider the Preflash and Postflash bonus items (you really can use your favorite cleanser and moisturizer).
