Stitch Fix Kids Review - September 2018
Stitch Fix is a personal styling service for men, women and now kids. With Stitch Fix, you provide your style, size (they also do maternity fixes), and budget preferences, and they will send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. You only pay for the items you love and decide to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which is applied to your order should you decide to keep any / all of the pieces.  If you don’t keep anything, you don’t receive a refund of the fee. If you keep all of the pieces, you get a 25% discount on everything!  Stitch Fix is now offering exchanges for sizing as well. Also, I should mention that you are only charged once you “check out” at Stitch Fix.  You have a few days to try everything on, and the box comes with a bag and a prepaid USPS return label so you can easily ship back the pieces you aren’t interested in.

My Stitch Fix shipped via FedEx and took just a few days to arrive this month.

This is our second time trying Stitch Fix Kids, and I opted to get a box for my 6-year-old son (W).  He gets a lot of his older brother’s hand-me-downs, so I figured this would be a great way for him to get some new things of his own.

If you can’t wait to see what’s in your FIX, you can go into your account after your box ships to check what you are getting that month. I always do!

W’s September 2018 Stitch Fix included the following pieces:

~Andy & Evan Seth Oxford Button Down ($18): This does not feel as stiff as a typical button-down – it almost feels like it has a touch of linen in it.  It looked super cute cuffed and fit W perfectly, however, it is just not something we need right now.  Verdict: Returned.

~Tailor Vintage Caleb Jersey Short ($18): These shorts are total perfection.  They have the elastic waistband is perfect and I love the salmon color.  They fit W perfectly right now, but it is Fall and I doubt these will fit next Spring / Summer, so they are headed back. Verdict: Returned.

~Nike Johnny Sweatpant ($38) and Nike Maddox Fleece Logo Zip Hoodie ($44): Ugh, I love this so much!  Could he look any cuter in it?  I doubt it.  This is totally his style and something he would be comfortable wearing.  But I just could not get behind the idea of spending $80 on a sweatsuit for a 6-year-old.  Sorry W, this is headed back.  Verdict: Returned.

~Tailor Vintage Gerard Reversible Long-Sleeve Hoodie ($22):  I love this one too!  The price is right and it is his favorite color – red.  It is also reversible, so you are getting two shirts for the price of one. He said it was comfortable and I do love tops with a hood! Verdict: Kept.

~Tailor Vintage Franklin Short Sleeve Rugby Stripe Tee ($14): Cute t-shirt and I do not hate the price point, but the colors are not for us.  We are Michigan State fans and this maize and blue shirt just won’t work ;). Verdict: Returned.

~Tailor Vintage Ekon 24/7 Double Knit 5-Pocket Pull-On ($24): These were another fit win.  They are pull-on pants which W loves and the length was just right for him.  Unfortunately, I just did not love the fabric.  It felt look, but looked like an almost faux corduroy.

~Tailor Vintage Jamal Short Sleeve Rugby Striple Polo ($16):  Again, super cute and the fit was perfect.  However, he has something very similar to this in our closet already.  I guess that just goes to show how spot on they got our style profile.

~Under Armour Performance Graphic Tee ($18): Under Armour is one of our go-to brands but I wouldn’t say that W is not a big baseball fan, so this is headed back. Verdict: Returned.

~Tailor Vintage Dean Long Sleeve Thermal Henley ($18): Again, SO CUTE, but we already have a shirt just like this.  The fit was just right and the price point was fabulous for us.  Sadly this one is going back. Verdict: Returned.

Even though we did not keep many pieces, we LOVED this Stitch Fix. The pieces all fit well and they did a great job selecting items that matched my sons profile.  We are already looking forward to the next one and W is looking forward to his next try-on session (he is so into it).
