Play! by Sephora Review - April 2019

Play! by Sephora has switched to recycled bags (they previous sent cloth bags) and I love them. I usually ended up tossing the drawstring cloth ones, but I will save these resealable ones.

The April 2019 Play! by Sephora theme is “Winning Beauty” and included the following items:

~Urban Decay Perversion Mascara (0.1fl.oz) ($9.23): I mention it every time I get a mascara, but I have lash extensions so I do not get to test / wear mascaras that come in subscription boxes.  According to Sephora, this is an ultracreamy, lengthening, and volumizing mascara.   It gets 4 out of 5 stars and is not clumpy or sticky.

~Farmacy Honeymoon Glow AHA Resurfacing Night Serum with Echinacea GreenEnvy (5mL) ($9.67): Can I get Farmacy in all my Play! boxes?  This is a three-in-one night serum that resurfaces, hydrates, and clarifies dull skin while you sleep.  It is fantastic.  My skin feels and looks smoother already!
Play! by Sephora Review - April 2019

~Sephora Collection Triple Action Cleansing Water (25mL) ($1.50):  I wouldn’t say that I dislike cleansing water, but I also cannot say that I love it.  It works, but for my skin (acne prone, but also a little dry), I prefer something with a little more power.
Play! by Sephora Review - April 2019

~Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Radiance (15mL) ($11): Sephora bills this as a lightweight, creamy gel that creates an invisible barrier between skin and makeup to prime your face for color.   I have used it alone and under a bb cream and I love the glow it gives me.
Play! by Sephora Review - April 2019

~Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (15mL) ($5): Remember when Clinique was EVERYTHING?  If you grew up in the 90s like I did, I am pretty sure you remember living for Clinique Bonus time.   I certainly did!  I am thrilled to get this and fingers crossed it makes my skin look like it did when I was 17 and using this 😉

~Bonus: VERB Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner (~$1): Each month, subscribers receive a bonus item.  I typically receive a fragrance sample, but I loved that they switched it up this month and I got a shampoo and conditoner.
Play! by Sephora Review - April 2019

All totaled the April 2019 Play! by Sephora had a value of nearly $38.  That is almost 4x the cost of the box and I am thrilled.  It was full of great brands and had a combination of old favorities and new goodies to try!

What did you think of the April 2019 Play! by Sephora? One thing to keep in mind is that Play! sends out a variety of boxes each month, so you may end up receiving a different box than your best friend who is also a subscriber. If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
