Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box program. Each month subscribers will receive a box of deluxe samples, along with an exclusive PLAY! BOOK — packed with helpful advice — and a PLAY! PASS to redeem in store for a free one-on-one learning session with a beauty expert. The six product samples in your PLAY! by SEPHORA box are from the same prestige brands Sephora carries in store and online, and they are sized to use multiple times.
Play! by Sephora has switched to recycled bags (they previous sent cloth bags) and I love them. I usually ended up tossing the drawstring cloth ones, but I will save these resealable ones.
The December 2019 Play! by Sephora theme is “Award Worthy Beauty” and included the following items:
~SMASHBOX Super Fan Mascara in Black (~$10): Ahh, mascara. You know the story. I have lash extensions and just do not have a use for mascara. It gets great reviews on Sephora though and is supposed to give you a buildable lift, length, and volume that lasts for up to 12 hours.
~Wander Beauty Lip Retreat Oil in Skinny Dip (3mL) ($4.40): Skinny Dip is a nude high shine glossy lippie. It is ultra hydrating and I love the shine this gives me, however, this felt super empty. I had to squeeze and squeeze to get anything out. Did anyone else notice this?
~OUAI Body Creme (30g) ($5.38): I loved trying this and love how thick and rich it feels, but it isn’t something I would purchase on my own. I loved the scent, but for the price ($38 for 7.5oz) I feel like I can do better.
~dr. brandt Skincare needles no more NO MORE BAGGAGE eye de-puffing gel (3g) ($8.40): Love this! No more baggage de-puffs your under-eye area and tightens and smooths the skin under your eyes. It is tinted, so it also helps to cover dark circles under your eyes. Good stuff!
~Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Moisturizer (7mL) ($7): I have received this fresh Face Cream in other subscription boxes and I always love getting it. It is a lightweight gel-cream, but it provides intense hydration. You can see the results from this after just one use!
~amika 3D Volume and Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner (~$1): My Bonus item this month was a Shampoo and Conditioner packet. It is only enough for one use, so I won’t be able to see any real changes in my hair.
All totaled my December 2019 Play! by Sephora had a value of about $40. That is 4x the cost of the box and I am satisfied with it.
What did you think of the December 2019 Play! by Sephora? One thing to keep in mind is that Play! sends out a variety of boxes each month, so you may end up receiving a different box than your best friend who is also a subscriber. If you are interested in subscribing (and you probably should be because their boxes are great), you can check them out here.
