Birchbox ships via USPS. This box was inside an outer cardboard box. I think that this box is (again) a leftover from a previous month.
Birchbox did have a curated box option this month and also allowed a sample choice selection. I did not make a sample choice selection this month as none of the items really appealed to me. Based on the old boxes and nature of the samples we are receiving, I am still assuming that the new owners of Birchbox (FemTec) are trying to get rid of past inventory. I am really hoping this doesn’t go on much longer and likely will not review my annual subscription.
My January 2022 Birchbox included the following items:
–Number 4 Lumiere d’hiver Fluoro5 Elixer Restore & Repair Oil (0.5fl.oz) ($6.50): You can apply this to damp or dry hair. It gives you a great shine and doesn’t weigh down your hair.
–Merci Handy Hand Sanitizer ($4): Is this exciting? No. Is it useful? Yes, of course. I will toss it in my car and it’ll probably be gone in a few week.
–ARROW Detangling Texture & Protect Spray: (30mL) ($7.20): This spray helps to easily comb through tangles, moisturize and smoothe hair, AND also provides heat protection when using hot tools. I don’t use heat tools often, but tangles happen so this is nice to have.
–Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream (0.68fl.oz) ($2.24): I love getting Glow Recipe in subscription boxes. It’s a whipped body cream and is smells so so good. It makes me want to put it on because it’s so good.
–Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Masque: (0.5oz) ($6.60) and Oribe Run-Through Detangling Shampoo (7mL) ($1.37): The Oribe mask aims to reverse damage and rejuvenate tired and dry tresses. I used it with the shampoo and I felt like my hair was softer and smoother.
All totaled my January 2022 Birchbox had a value of approximately $28. I liked this box, but I wasn’t excited by it. I loved the items, but felt like it was too heavy on the hair side.
