Happy Veteran’s Day to all those who have served, including my fabulous husband! For those of you that don’t know, B joined the Army when he was 18 (he was in Basic Training during 9-11) and spent his first year in Korea. He was then stationed at Ft. Drum and was deployed to Afghanistan were he served (and slept in a tent) for nine months. He even celebrated his 21st birthday over there (how fun!). Then it was back to Ft. Drum where he reenlisted and somehow landed in Michigan and met me (when he was 22)! I am skipping tons of details (training locations, etc.) here but, these are the highlights. In total, he served 6 years active duty and two in the reserves.
I do miss seeing B in his uniform everyday, but I am also pleased that chapter in our lives is over. Military life is definitely different than civilian life and my hat goes off to the families that devote their lives to the military. I can’t say thank you to all the veterans and current service members enough. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Today is your day. Enjoy it!
And I will leave you all with some pictures of my husband when he was in the military. He really was just a kid in those first few pictures huh?
Thank you to B and all other Vets for their service!
Wasn’t it kind of fun getting all dressed up for one of the Military Balls that Bryan had to attend?
