So yesterday was an insane mail day here. I got my Birchbox, ipsy bag and Citrus Lane box. All of which I was expecting. And then I spied one more box in the mail. A Bulu Box. I have no clue where this came from since I signed for up for the free box + one after that and then canceled. I know for a fact I didn’t get charged for this since my stolen credit card number is associated with this box and it obviously doesn’t work anymore.
But whatever, why should I get all the fun? B likes Bulu Box (just not enough to pay $10/month), so he was super pleased to see this surprise. In case you aren’t familiar with it, Bulu Box is “the first vitamin and supplement nutrition sample box”.
Unlike Birchbox, bluum, etc. Bulu Box doesn’t utilize the box within a box. You open the box and there are the products. Kind of annoying if you are trying to reseal the box so your husband can open it and be surprised, but good for the environment.
Here’s what was inside the box:
Natural Vitality Calm: This actually has me interested. It bills itself as an “anti-stress” drink. Really? There is such a thing? According to the information card it “restores a healthy magnesium level and balances your calcium intake – resulting in natural stress relief”. I have zero clue if this really works, but I am so trying it.
About Time 100% All Natural Protein: This protein drink has no chalky aftertaste. No carbs. No fat. And comes in a about a million flavors, including Birthday Cake. Really Birthday Cake flavored protein? I totally wish that they would have sent that instead of vanilla because I so would have tried it. I am actually super interested in trying this, so I need to be around when B uses it so I can sneak a sip.
ANS Performance DILATE: DILATE keeps you pumped and hydrated to ensure that ample oxygen and nutrients can reach your muscle fibers and ensure maximum output while working out. That’s what the card says anyways. I should get B to do reviews on things like this to tell me if it’s an actual useful product, because umm, I have no clue.
~Lean 180: Lean 180 offers a natural, effective supplement to a dieting plan. “Increase metabolism, burn more calories and detoxify your digestive system”. Meh. I am not sure that this will get used. I don’t really see this as a good fit for a workout / supplement box. Maybe it’s the packaging that gets me? It looks like a cheesy bottle you’d see in the back of US Weekly.
~ONGO Energy Shot: I may actually use this today since I had the brilliant idea to get up at 5am. Yeah, 5am. We received the Berry Blast flavor and I am going to throw this in the fridge right now as they suggest to drink it chilled.
~Eco-Dent Toothpowder and Dental Gum: I am going to let B be the guinea pig on this one. I have never heard of a toothpowder and find it very interesting. I’m surprised B hasn’t already used this to tell you the truth. It claims that once you use a toothpowder you’ll never use toothpaste again. Really? We’ll see about that!
I didn’t calculate the value of this box, but I am 99.9% certain the contents were worth more than the $10 cost of the box. If you or your spouse are into working out and supplements and trying new products, I’d totally recommend this box. I am kinda just blah about it, but B is always excited about the items and reads what they are supposed to do, etc.
Interested in signing up? Click here and get it done. And, according to an e-mail I got “starting this November, every month you’re subscribed to Bulu Box is a chance to win one of multiple prizes. We call it BAMM – because each prize is a piece of Bad-Ass Monthly Motivation to keep your health & fitness on track! Prizes could be sport watches, healthy cooking sets, workout gear or even fitness vacations!”. Ugh. This is making me want to subscribe again ;). Who doesn’t want to win a BAMM prize? I certainly do!
Wow. My October box looked nothing like that. I had 4 small sample size packets. 🙁
This was the 2012 one!
