Midweek Musings aka Random Ramblings

~So I’ve had WB’s car seat / infant carrier just sitting in the kitchen since I switched him to the big boy car seat. Yesterday L asks what we are going to do with it. I’m like I don’t know, throw it away? It’s L’s old one, so it’s pretty nasty. L was horrified and immediately grabbed it and put it in the “don’t throw away zone” – an area he totally made up. His suggestion is to “save it” for the next baby. Yeah, he wants another sibling. A sister to be exact. Thankfully he didn’t ask Santa for that;).

~What are some of your favorite preschool / Pre-K leaning apps? L has a few, but none of us think they are overly fun. He likes to play train games, but they just can’t come up with train games as fast as he can master them, so he needs to branch out.

~I got my first Christmas card yesterday from my old college roommate. Umm, show off much? I don’t even have pictures selected, much less cards designed, printed and bought. I did buy stamps though which I am so proud of myself for because I always wait till the last minute on that (unless my mom does it for me of course).

~I’ve mentioned the Secret Santa / Hanukkah Harry gift exchange we do on a message board (more like a secret society) I am on and I am busy getting my gift together so I can ship it out next week. I’m not sure if my girl reads my blog, so I will play it safe and wait to post a picture of all the goodies I got her until after the reveal. And of course, I am dying to know who had me! I made a fairly crappy list this year, which could be very good. Or very bad. Do any of you participate in a secret santa type gift exchange? Do you do it with a bunch of your girlfriends or your online friends?

~I asked the question on Facebook, but I’ll ask it again here. What should I give away next? A gift card? One of the monthly subscription boxes? Something else? PopSugar and Barkbox were popular answers on FB. So what do you think?

You should follow this facebook page, every Friday they post kids/educational apps that are free or reduced price. http://www.facebook.com/AppFriday
I have heard great things about My PlayHome, it was on sale a few weeks ago but apparently it’s worth it even at full price. Puzzles are a huge hit with my 4 yr old! There are 2 books that are interactive and very cute, The Monster at the End of this Book and Another Monster at the End of this Book.

They’re still doing SS/HH on the message boards even though no one ever goes on them? Now I wish I wouldn’t have deleted my information for Elfster! Boo!

Have you tried Mysteryville or Mysteryville2? They are hidden objects game that follows a storyline…I’ve had to redo a couple of timed missions because I couldn’t find all the objects in time, I think L would totally get a kick out of these! They are offered as free but to get the full version I think you have to pay like $1.99-$2.99 but its totally worth it!
