Things That Annoy Me – This and That Edition

It’s time for another “Things That Annoy Me” Edition!

Pushers: I cannot stand when people try to push things on you after you’ve said “no thank you” like a million times. No, you have to try / do this. “No thank you”. No, you’ll love it. You must try it. “No thank you”. It goes on and on and on until you either give in and try it (I NEVER do this) or you get rude about it (I do this) or flat out lie (I also do this). I don’t understand why people can’t just accept “NO” for an answer and move on. Is it that hard to believe that not everyone wants to buy what you are selling or have a taste of your Grandma’s amazing fruitcake? Back when I was a working girl (ha,ha), a client tried to force feed me some weird concoction that I had no intention of trying. I finally had to lie and say I was a vegetarian to make the pushing end.  And what do you know?  Lying worked way better than being polite.

Horrible Advice: In case you didn’t realize it, the internet is full of people who THINK know everything about everything and happily give out the worse advice ever.  Case in point, a question was asked on sort of a mom groups FB site.  The question was something to the effect of “my baby isn’t drinking enough formula now that he is eating more solid foods.  Any advice on how I can get him to drink more?”  I believe the baby was around 8’ish months old.  OMG, the answers.  They ranged from “Formula is so nasty I can’t blame him – get donor milk” to “put chocolate syrup in his bottles to make him want to drink it” to “why does he even need formula anymore”.   Really?  I don’t even know what to say about that.  Most of the other moms gave GOOD advice, but some of it was just awful.  I’m not even sure why you’d think that was okay to share, but hopefully no one is squirting chocolate syrup in their kids bottles you know?

Baby Talk: This one might get me in trouble, but I don’t care.  I get so annoyed when I am reading a blog or whatever in which the baby is the one “writing” the post.  For example: “Today my mommy took me to the zoo.  I had such an amazing time.”  I have no explanation on why this irks me so much.  But it does.  Babies don’t talk, much less type.  And it just annoys me.

A**holes: They are everywhere, but one I ran into yesterday pissed me off.  So yesterday at Target (where else), this a**hole comes in to return some bottles.  He’s got a small’ish bag full of bottles and the girl asks him much many he has.  He replies $50 with the biggest smirk on his face.  I really think he thought she’d just take his word and give him $50.  HA.  She counted them.  He had 32 bottles.  Or $3.20.  And then he begins to fight with her about how she counted them.  He insisted there were more.  Bless her heart she didn’t even fight back.  Just remained silent and handed him his $3.20.  She’s a batter woman than I because I would have yelled back.  Oh and did I mention he had an unlit skinny cigar hanging out of his mouth for the entire conversation?  A**hole.

I think that’s about all I got today.  I will be back in a few weeks with a “Things That Annoy Me – Holiday Edition”.  Because I am sure a few trips to the mall will have plenty of new material for me!

The baby talk thing pisses me of so bad! People always post pictures of their babies on fb even. “My Mommy is the best.” Whatever your kid probably hates you.. lol.. jk. But yes it irritates me to the max!

Oh the internet is just full of *awesome* advice! I used to belong to a moms group of sorts online, but it was so full of crazy I had to run. At first I hung around for entertainment purposes….but then the drama and the sleepless nights worrying over these poor children became too much and I had to just get out.

I was starting to think I was an a**hole magnet since I keep running into them everywhere! Maybe it’s just the Chirstmas season that is making people nuts? Anyway, good to know I’m not alone!
