Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
I feel like nothing can top last week’s very important polls (Does Santa Wrap Presents and Have You Ever Used an Entire Bottle of Nail Polish), so I won’t even try. Instead, I am going to go in a totally different direction and ask if you have a passport.
Most of the time I have a guess about how a poll is going to come out, but this time I am not sure at all. On one hand I feel like every American should have a passport. I mean why not? You never know when you are going to win a trip to Paris and need to leave tomorrow (a girl can dream right?). But on the other hand, I feel a lot of people probably don’t. If you travel to destinations where you don’t technically need one or just don’t like to travel, I’m guessing you don’t have one? But even if you don’t think you need one, you just *might* want to have one.
A few years back (back when B and I were dating), I went on a cruise with one of my girlfriends (who has since moved on to more exotic vacations). My boss at the time, who we all loved, passed away suddenly when I was on the ship (he always used to joke about how he was going to cancel my vacations – he totally showed me.). Passports were NOT required for the cruise, but having one allowed me to leave the ship in St. Maarten, buy a plane ticket, clear customs and make it home in time for the funeral. No passport? Not happening. It can also save you if you lose / misplace your driver’s license and need picture ID for something. Plus, we live near Canada and it’s just easier to have one. L also has a passport and has used it a few times, while WB will be getting one soon.
Now it’s your turn, do you have a passport? Why? Why not? And when was the last time you used it? Sadly I don’t get to use mine enough, but B has lots of stamps on his.
I have one… but it expires here pretty soon, so I need to go renew!
I used to have one but it has since expired, bummer. I used it to go to Paris, London and Ireland. My fiance and I are talking about getting new ones, because you’re right, you just never know when you might need it!
No, not yet. I need to get one though. We also live close to Canada – but could always get our Enhanced driver’s licenese to go there. I’d rather visit somewhere else than Canada though lol.
Have one but it expired…not much globe trotting going on here lately. 😉
I had to have one a long time ago for a Bahamas cruise and used it again for our honeymoon in St. Lucia.
I have an expired passport! It is my goal to get one this year in case I see any insane deals to Mexico or something! I do have an enhanced driver’s license, so I can at least go to Canada, lol!
Yes, but I do not look forward to renewing it in a few months. Means I cannot use my youthful picture anymore and it just seems like a longer process now.
I am very good at taking passport and visa photos. I have taken them for family over the years. I use a white wall, use a site that will format them and then print 6 for 20 cents wherever is close by. Cheaper than the paid ones, especially if travel to a lot of countries that require a visa.
Yep I have a passport I know as a kid I was on my dad passport until they made it a requirement for kids to have their own. You cant get anywhere in the UK without a passport even over to the rest of Europe. We used to have family holidays as a kid and know I do 2 yearly trips to the US I dont know what id do without mine 🙂
I have one as well as my two children. They both got theirs when they were about 8 months old. My four year old has been to Bermuda and Mexico, and my 2 1/2 year old has been to Mexico.
I’ve had a passport since age 11? The photo was taken around the holidays – I was wearing giant lightbulb earrings. So cool! On my third passport (and I had to get extra pages)
I had one until I was married and now due to marriage and a different last name its no good. My hubby and I went to Mexico about 3 months before we were married in 2008.
Yes, I have one. I realized about one week before I was due to leave for Kenya that mine was still in my maiden name…oops! Went to local senator and he got it rushed through…got it the day before I left. That was 7 years ago and sadly the only time it has been used but that will be remedied in May…yay!
