Amazon Prime and other things I am annoyed about…..

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

So I have been trying to sign up for Amazon Prime for over a week now and it’s NOT working. Ugh. Bryan is a student and has a .edu e-mail address that I am trying to link up to our existing Amazon account. Yeah. Not happening. I don’t get why it’s not working (and the Amazon help desk is useless), but it’s just not. I’m this close to just getting an Amazon Mom account instead. Which is probably exactly what Amazon wants me to do since it costs more.  Tricky Amazon, tricky.

I tried to clean up my Facebook last night and weed out some people I don’t talk to and just couldn’t do it. Listen, I doubt these people really even care that we are FB friends (they probably wouldn’t even notice if we weren’t friends anymore), but I always feel so bad deleting people. Like I am being mean or something. But seriously, when I can’t even figure out how I know the person, why are we friends? And why can’t I just delete them? So annoying.

Okay, so when I go and try to reply to a blog comment I get in e-mail (they all get e-mailed to me), I have to physically change the “reply to” and type in the person’s e-mail address (or it replies to some random comment address or something). So annoying. If you’ve commented and I have never responded, this is why. I don’t know if it’s my hosting company (Bluehost) or WordPress or what, but I’m over it.  Does anyone know how to fix this so I can just reply like a normal person?

You know what else is annoying me?  Static cling.  We have a humidifier attached to our furnace, but it was making the house too humid (it’s a long story but there was so much moisture in the house that the windows ended up getting all icy – on the inside), so we had to turn it down.  And now I am back to fleece pants that are all stuck together, dry skin and hair that sticks straight up.  Sweet.

Phew.  I feel SO much better getting that all out there.  What’s annoying you today?  And don’t say “your blog” because then I’d be annoyed that you are annoyed because I’m annoying ;).  But seriously, what’s annoying you?  Once you get it out there you’ll feel better!

Static Guard is the best thing EVER! I keep a bottle in my car, my house and my purse. I use it on my hair and my clothes. I’ve even gotten my boyfriend hooked.

Oy that all sounds very annoying! I hate when websites have things that “aren’t working” but their more expensive stuff is working just fine. Ugh. I’m annoyed that I have been up since 4 AM for no apparent reason!

One of my kids keeps getting up in the middle of the night, multiple times, to come into our bed and kick us around. Which consequently leads this mama to be cranky in the morning and have a headache. Also: laundry. (Enough said, amirite?)

I *think* the amazon prime student only gets you the shipping benefits, and no video or kindle lending library, if that was what you were hoping to do. Even if you signed up for Amazon Mom, you’d probably save a boat load on diapers and such because when you subscribe and save combined with amazon mom, diapers and formula are like 20% off which makes it a better deal than I can find locally. I’m not good with coupons and tracking sales though, so I’m just comparing to regular price at Meijer, Target, etc. But Amazon Mom still won’t get free Prime Videos. But I think you can always hook up Amazon to the tv and be able to purchase things to watch. That all sounds completely nonsensical when I read it back!

I’m annoyed that someone in the area is now using my business name as a tagline for their business which does the same thing I do, and that I had to send them a nasty-gram. I dont’ like doing that.

I’m annoyed that I have insomnia and can’t get more sleep even though baby is currently sleeping through the night.

      @Kate:

Yes! I was going to say the same thing. Tricksy Amazon!

      @Kate:

From my grad school days , what I remember is that the student amazon prime free trial does not get the streaming but the half price $39 account does. Amazon also assumes you are a student for 4 years, so I am still getting the $39 offer every few months.

When I signed up, I remember using a link from slickdeala through my existing account, then typing in my edu email. I then verified my email on my edu email. That was how I got the free trial and later I had links and sidebars askin if I wanted to upgrade. I dunno if that helps since it has been 3 years since I signed up.

I’m annoyed with my stupid online class!!! So unorganized. UGH!

Your blog host sends you a notification (with the comment received) to your email. So that’s the host sending you a mail not your fans, so if you want to send a note to the person who commented, then you have to manually change the address. (I don’t even know if I understood the problem – the BT work avatar in me just took over). You can hit forward and then type in the person’s email (doesn’t solve the whole situation just reduces the effort of removing an email). Also I do not think you can set it up such that you automatically hit reply and it gets sent to the person who commented here.

Bah I have this same issue and I agree with @Jency Kuriakose that you can only work around it. Nature of the beast, I guess. Not even sure if this is something we’d need WordPress to change or our web host (or both).

    what annoys me….
other people chewing gum…I cant stand the sound
people who wear pj pants in public…geez get dressed before you leave the house
    the stringy things in bananas…eew
    dryer lint
dogs that refuse to come when they are called…I won’t mention any names here
dirty socks put in the laundry inside out
    ……I could go on

In Blogger, when they are using a ‘no reply’ address (i.e. they’ve turned on that setting), it does that. But that’s probably not it since you are required to leave an email address in the above box – hm, have you tried actually just responding to whatever email address appears (it might be just masking the real one) and see if it gets returned?

Amazon Prime… ugh, I don’t know what I’d do without it. You know I signed up back in the old JS days when Katie was asking if people wanted to go in with her, and we’ve renewed it every single year since…!? Maybe there’s room if you want to join us 🙂

  9. Love, made me laugh and go I totally understand! Static cling… kills me and shocking everything and everyone I touch…. really not cool especially when I give my husband a kiss…. not cool.
The Facebook thing I totally get too. Like I realize people probably wouldn’t notice but if they did then I would feel bad. ;o( Pathetic I know!

    Blessings!

I’m annoyed that I am coming down with a cold again. This will seriously be the 6th time since October. Not cool, immune system, not cool.

I’m annoyed by so many little things at work. But mostly, since I work at a large public university, I hate how hard it is to find an answer to a relatively simple question. I also get super annoyed that processes change and no one tells me!

I am annoyed that my husband’s friend still acts like he is in high school. And will bring up something 52 times. Like, “I’ve never been invited” or “you used to hate me in high school” or “you didn’t visit when me when you came to Italy”. Dude. Grow up.

I’m annoyed that my best friend always jumps to the worst conclusion possible in every situation.

I’m annoyed that my mother in law does the same thing.

I’m annoyed at people that are always sick, always have something wrong with them, always having a bad day and feel the need to post it on their FB wall all the time.

I’m annoyed that my friend has the perfect baby. And my daughter was super hard.

    I’m annoyed I haven’t lost more weight.

I’m annoyed that Bravo doesn’t have their Top Chef episodes online after they air.

I’m annoyed that The New Normal is so over the top and preachy, but I can’t seem to stop watching it.

I’m annoyed I am at work instead of sleeping in my bed.

I just signed up for Amazon Student and am eligible for the other benefits as well (streaming video, free kindle books). I didn’t have any issues in signing up either. Are you going through a referral link? That made it easy when I signed up.

I’m annoyed when at work I have been instructed to say “no” about a situation and then someone else turns around and says “sure, no problem – go right ahead” (when they were the ones who told me to say no in the first place)

But I am NOT annoyed that for the first time in about 2 weeks I am able to wear “real” shoes to work and not my UGGS.

I am so glad you put this post up because I too am SOOOO annoyed today. I hate Girl Drama and I hate that since moving to TeXas we live on a street with Girls. My boys seem to keep getting swept up in this GIRL (8/9year olds) drama. Then I get the Parents who don’t like to let the kids work it out coming to me, before I have even had my first cup of coffee, letting me know that my boys are excluding there daughter from stuff yadie yadie ya… UGH I am SO annoyed with Girl DrAMA that is why GOD gave me Boys…I keep telling the boys to stay away from the girls because they are only going to keep getting you in trouble. Do they listen NOOoooo why would they do that. UGH

I also am annoyed that the word EPIC annoys me and that everyone from Quaker Oats to the NFL are all using it in EVERY commercial. UGH Have you started to hear EPIC used in everything? If not you now will.

Are’t you glad you asked what annoys us?? I will stop there or I will write a book.
Thanks for listening sometimes you just need to get things off your BRAIN before it explodes.

Traffic annoys me! I sit in about an hours worth of traffic in the morning and afternoons after work. That’s two hours of my life wasted sitting in traffic!

Also, Amazon Prime in general annoys me because you have to sign up for the regular Prime version in order to get access to the Kindle Lending Library (which is pretty much the only reason I went Prime).

OOOOH, the facebook thing annoys me, too! In fact, I just quit looking at it all of a sudden because I was so freaking tired of seeing things I could have cared less about. Then I realized that you could put people on a “acquaintances” list, which basically meant you wouldn’t see their posts anymore. Now my feed is only full of the people I want to hear from and none of that “So and So likes this company” crap! If you are on a regular computer/laptop you will see a little arrow in the top right of someone’s post. If you click on that arrow, there are some options for you. Hope that helps!

Ugh … I love Amazon … but they really annoyed me this morning, too. I have had a prime membership for a few years now and have loved the benefits. But now they have added a new “program” called the add-in program. Pretty much, if you are trying to buy something small and light weight, depending on what it is, you cant buy it until you have at least a $25 purchase order. I wanted/needed a new sippy cup for my little one … and found that I cant just spend the $5 on it, instead I need to find another $20 worth of stuff that I wasnt planning on buying just to buy a cup. SO ANNOYING!
