When Julep announced their latest limited edition box, the Sea Salt Mystery Box I bought it right away. I was super excited to try out their texture polishes! It was (still is actually) $24.99 and promises a value of $70 – $200.
I got tracking notification for my box days ago, but it didn’t really move for a few days. Once it got going though, it arrived FAST. Someone please let me follow packages as they move across the country. I need to check out why / how some services are so efficient and some are NOT.
I snuck a peek at a few boxes on Instagram last night (#julep), but I wasn’t sure what to expect from mine since they have so many versions of the box (I got version #6). I am always excited to see what they put in their mystery boxes! Makes me feel like a little kid getting a grab bag! The mystery boxes don’t have information cards, so don’t be thinking I forgot to include a picture.
Here’s what was inside:
~Jill (Boho Glam) (Sea Salt Finish) ($14): I really wanted the Sadie Sea Salt Finish, but I like Jill too, so I am happy. Â Jill is a smoked beige sea salt finish and I don’t have anything like it. Â The polish doesn’t look at all different than the regular finishes, but clearly it goes on differently? Â I’m going to try this one first!
~Simone (Classic With a Twist) ($14): Simone is a soft pastel lilac opalescent shimmer, which I actually got in my March “It Girl” box. Â It’s a gorgeous color and I am sure who ever I pass thing along too will be very happy!
~Claudette (Classic with a Twist) ($14): Caludette is a smoky brick red crème and I think it’s my favorite color in the box!  It’s totally perfect and I kinda maybe want fall to get here so I can wear it!
~Vivien (American Beauty) ($14): Vivien aka ‘Champagne bubbles’- a full coverage multi-dimensional gold glitter and OMG I love it.  I cannot get enough glitter polishes and this is fabulous!  This + Claudette for the holidays would be awesome.  Nothing wrong with planning ahead!
~Matte Top Coat ($14): I don’t have any Julep top coats, so I am anxious to try this one out.  And it’s not just a plain told top coat, it gives your polish, whatever it is, a matte suede finish.  So that’s a totally different look with just a top coat!
~Julep Nail File &Â Toe Seperators ($3): I’m not sure what the value of these are, but I’m going with $3. Â I’m curious, do people use toe separators when they paint their toenails? Â Do tell. Â I don’t. Â I am happy about the nail file because you can never have too many!
All totaled my Julep Sea Salt Mystery Box (version #6) had a value of $73. Â Not one of the high value boxes, but I am still thrilled with it. Â I doubt I will never be able to pass up a Julep mystery box!

for ONCE , I am glad I “didn’t” get a box. I passed on this because I am not crazy about textured products, and I already have the ones that were “normal” polishes at least the one’s in your box anyway. I am actually wearing Claudette right now, it pairs well with yellow so even though it is spring it works.
I never paint my own nails anymore, I just don’t have the patience I used to to let them dry…I want all these colours though, lol!
About the toe separators. I am obsessed with french manicures on my toes and have not had color on them in over 8 years. I love to use toe separators so I can put on the line of white nail polish and not have other toes smudge it. So I would say I am an avid user of toe separators. They take some time to get used to, because they definately spread your toes apart. Kind of like toe socks, once you use them its not big deal. (I could never get used to toe socks no matter how hard I tried.)
These Julep boxes always look so good! I’d love to hear how the matt top coat works!
Great box! I always seem to get the smallest boxes, but hoping that’s beginners bad luck. I’m hoping that the price will go back down, but will probably cave and order one if they have a Mother’s Day box.
I love the polishes that were in your box. I don’t think I will ever be able to pass up a mystery box either! I am still waiting on mine to arrive. I am in such anticipation over what could be inside!!!!

Still waiting on mine. 🙂 My friend got hers yesterday and got box #4 with the Sadie in it. So even if I don’t get it I hope to try hers at least once. Love your box though everything is very wearable. I just bought the Freedom top coat. Love it so far. You should watch the video. It dries your nails in 5 min. I haven’t timed it but its really fast.
I totally use those toe seperators. I have terrible luck when it comes to nail polish. If i make it to them being dry without a smudge its a miracle!
also, what does the sea salt finish look like? I’m so jealous of this box!
Just ordered mine. I haven’t decided if I am sold on textured nail polishes yet or not. Should be interesting to see what I get.

I just ordered mine too; I also did the matte finish as an add on for 5.99 in case it doesn’t come in the box I get. I want to try that stuff it looks awesome!
I got exactly your box, Jennifer! I was a little disappointed because I wanted either the Sadie or the Madeline. The other colors were definitely nice. The matte top coat was nice. I wish I could get one of the higher end boxes, my last ones have been low end. This one, by value alone, barely makes the limit on what was advertised.
I received my box today, unfortunately I didn’t receive any of the sea salt polishes. I’ve contacted Julep, hopefully they will help.
I got mine yesterday box #2; was really hoping for box #11 with all those goodies. I got julep pomegranate body cr?me, the toe separators/file and polishes: lauren, meryl, gunta-trina turk fall 12 and sea salt Sadie.
I love my box! However I got duplicate of a color from my feb? box. Do they offer any return/credit options?
