Stork Stack
June Stork Stack

My June Stork Stack arrived today and, as always, I was quite happy to see it.  My mail lady had it all wedged in my mailbox (she hates me), so it was a battle to get it out. But I won and took it in house to open it right away.

Stork Stack
The Box

Stork Stack has one of my favorite box designs and I smile every time I see it.  It’s adorable.  I still can’t figure out what Stork Stack is doing different with their shipping these days, but my box took like 5 days to get from Chicago to my house (in Michigan).  That seems like kind of a lot no?

Stork Stack
First Look

I had peeked at spoilers so I pretty much knew what was in the June Stork Stack before it arrived.  I wasn’t 100% sure which variation of the box I would get though because I didn’t check the ages for the spoilers.   But if you are wondering, WB gets the 14 month-old box. I don’t have him aged up for Stork Stack.

Stork Stack
The Information Card

Stork Stack revamped their information cards a while back and I still love them.  I have been a subscriber for a while and feel like I have watched them grow up ;).  The June Stork Stack theme is “Picnic Party” and includes some of Stork Stack’s favorite snacks, as well as, great picnic accessories to inspire fun, independence and good health.  Here’s what it included.

~Tree Hopper Toys: Animal Jalopies (Bear) ($15.99):  Tree Hopper Toys is a family-owned toy company on the outskirts of Chicago.  Pretty similar to Stork Stack actually!  They use American hardwoods to craft toys kids can enjoy for years.  I can totally see having this for years to come and even saving it for grandkids.  It’s a total classic and is very well made.  And WB loves it already!

~Susan Brown’s Baby: Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths ($13.99): I would never buy a box of wipes for $13.99, but that doesn’t mean I won’t use them and enjoy these!  They sound fabulous and are oil free, chlorine free, dermatologist tested and also hypoallergenic. Knowing now much wipes like these costs makes me pretty happy my kids don’t have sensitive skin or allergies!

~Sassy Baby: 9oz Grow Up Cup ($7):  OMG, I was this close to buying this exact cup for our cruise, but I opted for some straw cups with a million pieces instead.  WB can drink from a cup just fine, but holding it on his own is another story.  I think this is perfect and couldn’t have come at a better time.

~Barbara’s Snackimals Cereal ($0.99):  The information card says that these are cookies, but we totally got the cereal. No big deal though since the cereal is yummy and the kids have tried it and both enjoy it.  This snack pack reminds me that I want to get se at the grocery store next time I go!

~GimMe Health Foods: Roasted Seaweeds Sheets($1.19): Dude. I don’t even know what to say. These really are sheets of seaweed. Those are thin and salty and pretty gross. Totally not what I’d sit down and treat myself too you know? Unless, of course, I was a mermaid. Which I am not.

I felt like you had to actually see the seaweed too.

All totaled, our June Stork Stack had a value of $39.16. Stork Stack is $27.99/month, so once again, we totally got our money’s worth with this one! And with the exception of the seaweed (I am going to force B to try it when he gets home tonight though) we will use everything in it!

Crazy as it is, my little sisters are both totally addicted to the little seaweed snacks. It’s now a very popular treat in our household.

  2. Abby

I thought I would be brave and try the seaweed. WRONG CHOICE! NASTY!!!

  3. Jill

The roasted seaweed is like Japanese “nori” and what they put on the outside of lots of types of sushi.

  4. Katrina

As weird as it sounds, seaweed is pretty good crumbled on top of popcorn. 🙂

  5. Jordan

Loveee! I’m so excited, I get my first StorkStack this month!

  6. Mackenzie

I love that bear toy and WB is just the cutest!

  7. I’m signing up tomorrow…I wanted to the other day and realized I left my CC at home…boo… SO, you will see a $10 credit from me! I’m always blown away by this sub, so I can’t wait to start getting it as well!

Hi – new reader to the blog. I’m not a mom but find your postings highly entertaining, helpful and relatable. Since you are such a box subscription enthusiast, I wanted to ask which box you recommend: Citrus Lane or StorkStack? My sister in law in pregnant and due at the end of August with her first baby (and my first nephew!). I wanted to get her something fun but can’t decide between all of the choices! Thanks!

    1. nelly contreras

@Kaitlin: dont get her citrus lane. I just cancelled them and if u look at their forums and fb everyone is pretty disappointed with their service. Including myself

    2. Leah

@Kaitlin: That’s funny, because my experience with Citrus Lane has been really great. At one point USPS lost my box, and they were amazing about giving me another month for free. Plus the products have been consistently good. Stork Stack is good, too, but feel free to use my reference link if you want a discount on CL: http://www.citruslane.com/invitedby/Leah.Gajdos

Seaweed treat was def gross! But I loooooved the wooden toy. Until my dog, who has never destroyed anything, got ahold of it after one day! I’m very sad. I’m totally buying a new one! Oh, and since SR is 9 mo, we got the treatbag instead of the cup. Which reminds me… Can u give me tips on cruising w a little one? We r doing Alaska next month, for a week. I’m nervous! Don’t know what to expect or need… Help!,

  10. Deena

I got the same things in my 16 month old box. And I thought the same thing about the seaweed snack (YUCK) which mine, ironically came in the sea salt flavor.

  11. Amanda

I will take your seaweed! I love crispy seaweed and even buy it in bulk from my favorite vegan website! I am part Asian though, so it might be genetic lol I’ve been thinking about the Stork Stack – what is the age limit? My DD is 2.

  12. Sandra

I’m glad that Stork Stack included a toy from a small family-owned business. Overall this box looks more impressive than the previous months.

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t care for the seaweed. Have you ever eaten sushi? It’s commonly used in Japan . Try wrapping a piece of seaweed around a small amount of rice, maybe add a little hot sauce. (I’ve been eating it my entire life. I’m used to people thinking it’s gross. When I was a child I didn’t eat it in front of friends. But then I was surprised a couple of years ago when I discovered that seaweed is now a trendy snack.)

  13. Rose D.

I LOVE seaweed. I eat it for a snack all the time, and it is super good for you. My husband won’t touch it, but loves sushi. I guess it is just a total random preference.

  14. Taynia @ Skinny Seahorse

Does WB ever Not smile? He is so stinkin cute.

  15. Kristin S.

Oh my gosh, I LOVE seaweed snacks! TJ’s has awsome ones for 99 cents per pack. My boys love them too…I have to hide them. seriously. They also have wasabi flavored. 🙂

  16. Jill

I just got our box. We got baby paper(which my little girl loves!!), and a feeder/teether. We also got the wipes, wooden toy(worm maybe), and seaweed. Great box!!!

  17. Susan

I got the same box, except our wooden toy is a turtle instead of a bear, and our cup is purple. I have a 16 mo old girl, so I’m excited to try out the cup. I tried the wipes today and have to say I’m not a fan. They seeed to be a little dried out, so I added a small amount of water, but it didn’t help. I think its just the texture that I don’t like. I normally use pampers sensitive, and they are much better and quite a bit cheaper.

  18. Lauren

Pretty sure I am going to buy my pregnant friend a 6 month subscription to Stork Sack for her baby shower. Thoughts? It seems like it usually has the cutest stuff! Although if her crazy mood swings and hormone psycho person doesn’t chill out she will be luck to get a used diaper from me! Ha, kidding. Pretty much.

  19. Bobbi

This stork stack was the first we received (due in a few days) so we got the newborn box. It was perfect. We received a egyptian cotton gown sleeper that is light-weight, perfect for summer and a pink plaid pattern (we know it is a girl). Also received a cloth teething toy shaped like a watermelon (from Sassy baby products), crinkle baby paper (which I alone spent 5 minutes playing with, love the noise), and a touch and feel book. We did also receive the seaweed treats which I find appalling but my husband loves that kind of stuff so he took them as a snack to work and was super excited about it. The gown alone almost made the cost of the box and I cannot wait to get next months. I am from Chicago so this box gets to me in no time flat!

  20. Liz

The baby box came with awesome fabric paper that my baby loved! The seaweed for a 7 month old was odd. I don’t like the residue the wipes leave behind. There you go in a nutshell!
