~I don’t know if I should admit to this or not, but I am kind of pleased that the holiday week / weekend is over and things are getting back to normal around here. B was off (and up-north) all last week with L and the furries. WB and I stayed here a few nights and there a few nights. Umm, can I just tell you how creepy it is at my house with no dogs? So creepy. I’m keeping one of those furries next time he goes up-north. For sure! But yeah, we were basically all over the place last week. But now we are all back home together again and things are back on track. B actually has today off too (he’s a DOD employee and the mandatory furloughs started today) so we are going to take advantage and do something fun around here. I am thinking putt-putt?? L will love it!
~The “winner” (it wasn’t really a contest, more of a giveaway) of the Stella & Dot Jolie Necklace is Sonya B!!! Congrats and enjoy your necklace (and your order)! If you have no idea what I am talking about, for every $50 spent at my S&D website in May and June, you got an entry towards the Jolie Necklace! I think I will do something similar for July & August as well, but I’m not 100% sure what yet?? Maybe something from the new fall line that is coming out this month??
~I finally saw the Real World Portland finale and reunion and still think this is one of my favorite seasons ever. I always wonder what on earth I miss on these shows to make everyone hate each other so much! I can only hope Nia goes on a Challenge in the future so I can see her get all crazy on some of the regular crazies ;). I also was able to catch the first two episodes of this season’s Catfish and I still can’t believe this. Umm, why does everyone think / believe the person on the other end is some hot model? Really? They never are.
~B ran two more races this past week, including a 10K on the 4th of July and a 5K mud run on Saturday. I believe he was 1st in his age group for the 10K and 2nd OVERALL for the mud run! Go B!! Also, he was not one of the people who ended up sick from the Michigan Tough Mudder and would (and will) totally do it again. I don’t know how many races he’s completed towards his goal of 30 in 30 (30 races in his 30th year), but he’s got to be about halfway?
~A few girls are starting the Challenge today and I am super excited for them!!! Â B went a little off track last week, but it’s game on again this week. Â Nothing too crazy happened, but I wouldn’t consider my Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies, ice-cream or hot dogs clean eats ;). Â We went grocery shopping yesterday and are restocked on good eats, so we are set! Â And if you ordered the Challenge, your shaker cup has been ordered and should be on it’s way!
~I updated the Subscription Box List over the weekend and the coupon codes list is next up. Hopefully I will have some time to work on that today. Â I am not expecting too many boxes this week (I say that every week though), but I am getting PopSugar, FabFitFun, Bonjour Jolie and Hello Makana, all of which I am VERY excited about! Okay, so I found you blog, got hooked, signed up for about 8 new subscriptions, even more hooked….but I don’t really know the shipping times of any of these. Does popsugar just ship and not send you a notice or tracking number? Also, do you know when fancy food box ships? I feel like any day now it’s going to feel like Christmas around here… 🙂
I’m in Ohio and my Popsugar came today so yours may too! Don’t know if I will ever wear that necklace though…kind of heavy/big for my taste.
Remember our conversation about not liking flying? Sigh. I spent the weekend rescuing my 14 year old cousin who got stuck in the chaos that was the San Francisco airport after the crash (she was not on the flight that crashed, she was in the airport for a connecting United flight). You would think that the airlines might take a bit of care when a scared girl goes up to the ticket window and says she’s 14 and doesn’t know what to do since the entire airport closed down. Handing her a rebooked ticket for the next day and telling her to “call her parents” kinda got under my skin (her parents didn’t drop her off as she was in SFO on a connecting flight you idiots!). Thankfully we live in San Jose and were able to fight the traffic to go get her after getting a call from her Mom. Not happy to find her cornered by some 30 something man giving her a line about how he’s a movie producer…who had already asked her for her phone number….she’s 14! United is not on my happy list right now (#nobaconforyou United!). My poor cousin had only met us once and had to spend the entire weekend with us while we tried to get her home. Exhausting and stressful weekend and I feel so bad for the families on the plane that went down. I’m hoping some #happymail arrives soon! (Come on PopSugar!!!).

Oh Catfish! I get pulled in every season … and always just shake my head. I think mostly because Im surprised it didn’t happen to me. Maybe its because it wasn’t a publicly televised thing 5 years ago, so people didn’t really think about it?! I’m not sure … but it makes me wonder what would have/could have happened!! I felt bad for that guy on last week’s show, though.
Have you watched RHONJ yet?! All SORTS of crazy going on … and next week is only going to get worse/juicier!!
