Sunday Sentiments

Once again, I’m totally stealing Jen’s Sunday Sentiments button and idea and making it mine tonight. As always, I don’t even know if she is doing this tonight, but I’m not letting that stop me.

~B ran his second half marathon this morning and did AMAZING! I’m not sure what his official time was, but according to RunKeeper it was 1:42:29 (for a pace of slightly under 8 minutes a mile). And he said his foot was asleep for over half the race. Oddly, I was asleep for half the race as well ;).

~Friday night we found a pigeon (one of those special tagged ones) in our backyard just kinda running around, a few paces faster than Baxter and Buddy.  I guess the bird has been around for a few days because my brother saw it the other day when he was over.  And speaking of my brother, he found an adorable little white dog in the street with no tags on his way home from work the other day.  Why couldn’t I be the one to find a cute dog and he could get a bird?

~L and I made cookies yesterday and for the first time in umm, forever, I did not want to eat the cookie dough. I’d tell you this was Challenge related and that cookie dough just doesn’t taste good to me anymore, but that’d be a lie. These cookies were just too much! We baked Pink Lemonade ones and Cotton Candy ones.  It smelled like a sugar factory in my house.   In a bad way.  Luckily the Pink Lemonade ones were 90% off during the Target Summer Clearance.  I am just glad we didn’t buy the Key Lime or Orangesicle ones! I will say that the Cotton Candy (sold only at Target) ones are better than the Pink Lemonade ones.

~I’m looking forward to Big Brother tonight to see who Aaryn nominates.  Will she keep her end of the deal.  I am also looking forward to the day she gets booted from the house and realizes the trouble she’s in the real world.

~I almost fear asking, but what is this movie “Sharknado” I keep hearing about?  From what I’ve heard, it sounds super stupid, but if everyone else is watching it, I want to see it too ;).

~Did anyone watch 48 Hours last night with the story  of the Silverwood shipwreck? Oh my.  That was bananas.  It seems that it originally aired years ago, but I don’t remember hearing about it.  Even though I KNEW what the end result was (i.e. everyone lived) I was still nervous watching it.

That’s it from here! How’s your Sunday?

Hehe I peaked so I know who she nominated but I’ll still be watching after the boys fall asleep 😉 And yes I can’t wait for her to be evicted and see all she is up against.

I have no idea about Sharknado but it has Ian Zerring in it so I feel like I should eventually watch it just to support the 90210 crew.

Sharknado is hilarious!! It’s an instant classic! Haha! You have to watch it just to experience the true genius of it. No, but really it is pretty bad, but my hubby and I couldn’t stop watching it! What’s next Bearnami?? 🙂

I can’t wait for my first half marathon in October, so anxious!

I watched Sharknado last night with my boyfriend, and it was HORRIBLE, but it was so horrible we were cracking up laughing, and kinda enjoyed ourselves!

So I read your newsletter about school not starting until after Labor day in Michigan..sounds pretty sweet if you are a kid, but I think from a parent stand point starting earlier is better?? Most of the schools around Indy do a balanced scheduled where you get an 8 week summer, 2 fall break, 1 week thanksgiving break, 2 week xmas, and 2 week spring break. So needless to say the schools around us all start this Wednesday or Thursday (beginning of August). The only schools that don’t do this are private ones who start mid to late August. I obviously don’t have kids in school yet, so I don’t really have a preference yet.

@Nicole: I am a bit north of Indy (HSE) and though some schools around us are using the year round schedule, we are still a regular school year starting in mid Aug- not a private school. You may have options!

School starts here in MS August 8th. Summer hss gone by soooooo fast. Guess we we will do a nontraditional Christmas family trip since we didn’t get one in this summer. We bought the keylime cupcake mix. I hope it is decent. As for being a night owl. I am totally one. Soooo not a morning person! But I can stay up all night.
