It’s time for another Thursday Thoughts! If you are participating make sure to throw your link in below. And if you want to participate, but have no idea what a link-up is, you can check out my explanation of it here.
~Happy Halloween! It’s suppose to be a total washout here today, but we’re not going to let that ruin our fun. L has still school party / parade today and rain or no rain, we’re going trick-or-treating tonight! We’ve got umbrellas so things will be just fine ;).
~I ran to the grocery store last night to grab some things for L’s special Halloween lunch today and I think I did quite well! Lots of fruit today, but I don’t think he’ll mind. I hope he thinks it’s all as cool as I do.
~OMG. I got a comment (thank you again Jess!) the other night asking if I’d seen this Time Business & Money article about the PopSugar Neiman Marcus box that mentioned my blog. Umm. NO! I about died. Seriously. They mentioned this blog in TIME? OMG. Stop it. Just stop it. If you don’t feel like clicking and reading, I’ll snapshot the section below. It’s not like huge or anything, but I thought it was cool!
~B, oh B, has National Guard “stuff” to do part of this weekend, so it’s just the little boys and I for half the weekend. I am hoping that the “stuff” he needs to do includes getting ID cards so that I can get to that Commissary! I don’t know what fun we’ll get into here, but I am sure we’ll figure out something ;). Like getting an extra hour of sleep maybe? HA!
~I still have a few boxes trickling in this week, including the November Julep, November Birchbox Man, November Wantable and maybe a few more? Oh and Fancy Food Pants! I haven’t been using my Posted App, so I’m feeling not so on top of what’s coming this week. I need to get back in the game!
~I’m almost ashamed to admit this, but we haven’t made a family trip to the cider mill this season. Gasp. I didn’t realize this until the boys got their picture taken there earlier in the week (and also ran into April who reads here*) and decided I needed to change that! B had school, but the little boys and I went there yesterday (which was an insanely gorgeous day) after school. We roamed around and had warm donuts and cold cider and all that good stuff. My fall is now complete.
That’s it for now! What’s on your mind today?
That is awesome they mentioned you in Time!
I thought it was pretty cool!!
You are such an Awesome Momma! Love the creative lunch for L!
I hope you all have a great night trick or treating tonight – its suppose to be really warm tonight here in FL. I am expecting/predicting about 80 kids – I am one of those people that give out full size bars to kids -although, they do have a choice – my hubby likes to give canned beans or stewed tomatoes – you wouldnt believe the cutest little girl last year took the beans saying “These are my Mommy’s favorite beans, she is going to be so excited!” She melted my heart! I hope she comes back this year and lets me know what her Mom really thought!
OMG. That is the most adorable thing. I hope she comes back for more!
The Time thing is awesome. I found the retailwire debate… interesting. Some of them were spot on, and others, it was sort of like, I hope people don’t actually pay you for your opinion, which is contrary to actual market outcomes..
Thanks! I was a little confused by the person who said they should “show what could be in the box”. That’s asking for a world of trouble!!! LOL!
Congrats on the Time article. Your blog is great and I’m happy that you’ve received recognition on the national level.
Aww, thank you. I just looked at it again and it’s under the category “Odd Spending”. LOL!!!
So cool you got mentioned!! Celebrity status 🙂 I hope I make as cute lunches for my daughter once she hits elementary school! You are so creative!
I can’t take credit for any of those ideas. It was all Pinterest!
Yea but you put them into reality whereas in just a pinner who never actually tries any of the ideas lol
Congrats on the Time article. Love your blog- I look forward to it daily 🙂
I love how you did L’s lunch! How did you do the mummy milk? I can’t wait for my daughter to go to school so I can do things like that. I try to do it for lunch at home, but at age 2, she pretty much just chooses which one she likes and just keeps asking for more of it & ignore the rest. Lol! Anyway, enjoy your Halloween! And congratulations on being on Time magazine!
I wrapped it in white vinyl tape. You can find it at Home Depot. Then get stick on goggly eyes and use another piece of tape and put over the eyes a little to make them sort of hidden. I did a detailed post about them last year too:

Time!! Awesome!! You are a celeb! I told you!
And what a seriously great mom for making that cute lunch and taking them to the cider mill! I’m currently backing some chocolate chip pumpkin muffins in a monster pan. So far I know the bag of chocolate chips are tasty.
We took Silas to Waldenburg park yesterday. It wasn’t even busy even thought it was so nice out!
And now I feel extra special! Thanks for the link!! It was a pleasure to meet you! 🙂
Did the monster muffins come out okay? I never seem to be able to pop those out without ruining them!
Ohh, I like that park!!!
They did. I used Pam and some flour to coat the pan first. They popped right out!
Time OMG how awesome. What time do you get out of school? N doesn’t get home until 4ish and its pretty much too late to do anything then. 🙁
L gets out at 3:10.
where did you get the skeleton sandwich thing? That is really cool! I also love what you did with the juice box! Very creative. I love it!
Target! It’s like a double sided cookie cutter. One does the shape and the other side does the face. It was in a set of two. The other was a pumpkin.
WOW! I would definitely just freak out with that kind of a mention in Time. Definitely well-deserved, though! You run a fantastic blog!
Aww, thank you! I thought it was quite cool!
Congrats on the mention in Time!
You little * at the end got me thinking about how many people I have met that I had first met on the internet. I think it is only 3, but the most important one is my husband! Thanks, okcupid.com, lol 🙂
You met your husband on the internet? How fun! I “know” a lot of people from the internet, but never had met anyone before! It seems crazy!
I did! Back in 2005 before it was ‘the thing’ to do. I didn’t even let my MOH mention it in her wedding toast, but now I totally would have let her.
Ohh, that was a while ago! You were ahead of the trend.
The Halloween lunch is so cute and creative! You’re making great memories for your kids. Mine still remember when I let them decorate cupcakes. It was messy, but fun!
That is always fun!
You are famous now! Love that you were mentioned. Pretty soon you might have a TV show like some other famous blogger! 🙂 I love L’s lunch it was so cute. And the cider tastes better in those little apples for sure!
LOL. Hardly. I think people would be quite bored watching me open boxes!
And yes, it totally does taste better in those little apples.
I’m dyin over your YOLO use! So funny!!
LOL. I never use it in real life, but it seemed to fit here!
WHOA! Super cool article. I feel so proud for you!
Thank you! I mean it’s not like about me or anything, but I thought it was cool!
I want you to be my mum and pack my lunch, this was too cute!
Thank you! I’d pack it! I got the goodies you sent today! You are too nice! I am going to FB you right now!
