I subscribed to PijonBox when they were on one of the deal sites (Living Social I believe) a few months back and I believe I have one month left on my subscription. If you aren’t familiar, PijonBox is a monthly subscription box geared towards college students. Each PijonBox includes 5-6 products selected just for college students (subscriptions are customized by male and female – I got the female) and contain a value of $30-$50 per box.
PijonBox ships via FedEx Smart Post and shipped early for December so that students would receive the box before they head away for the holiday break.
Unlike the last few months PijonBox used a much smaller box this month which fit the items perfectly. The last few months they have been using these huge boxes which aren’t even half full. I thought this was much more size appropriate.
The December PijonBox theme is “Winter Break” and includes everything you need to survive winter break. The box included the following:
~Frava Naturally Caffeinated Juice ($2): I have never heard of this brand before, but it’s basically a juice with caffeine. It good, not amazing, but the caffeine was quite enjoyable ;).
~SmartyPants On The Go Vitamins ($4): These are gummy vitamins for grown-ups. And they are GOOD! I opened them right away to try them and then handed B a pack. He was hesitant until he tried one and then ate the rest in like two seconds.
~JimmyBar Vegan, Gluten-Free All-Natural Snack Bar ($4): These would fall under the category of I am glad I tried them, but I wouldn’t buy them again.
~Girls Can Tell Notebook ($8): I love this! It reminds me of Napolein Dynamite. LOL. I have half dozen notebooks (all half written in) around the house, but this is for sure the most unique.
~Richer Poorer Premium Socks ($7.20): At least I thought these were men’s socks, but now I am not so sure. I’ll try them on and if they are too big, I’ll give them to B. Socks are always a welcome item around here for sure!
~Vapur Reflex Foldable Bottle ($5.99): Okay, so I love the idea of these foldable bottles (WAY easier to carry around than a plastic bottle), however, I am lost on how these get cleaned. Will I ever be able to get this totally dry on the inside? Because the thought of storing this with water beads in it (even with the cap off) kind of freaks me out. Can anyone solve this?
All totaled I came up with a value of $31.19 (I used online prices – some of which were sale prices) for the November PijonBox. Boxes starts at $25/month, but I bought the 4-month deal through Living Social for $49 (or $12.25/month), so I most certainly got my money’s worth! It’s not my favorite box to date, but either way I am planning on waiting until I receive the February box (Pijon doesn’t send a box in January due to Winter Break) to decide if this is a subscription I want to keep.
What do you think of PijonBox? Did you get a box this month? Sadly the amazing Living Social deal is over, but if you are interested in subscribing or just want to learn a little more, click here.
that foldable bottle reminds me of the bladders that one uses for camelpacks. to dry the inside of those they sell this thing that holds it open to dry. im not sure how you would keep that thing open to dry, maybe put a coup,e chopsticks inside to hold it open until it is… also those are excelent for sneeking booze into cruises, they dont show up on the xray…
That is good to know!! LOL!!
I wonder if they make something similar to keep this bottle open!
I use my Munchkin baby bottle drying rack, if you still have one of those around.
I have a boon grass. That might work…
LoL that notebook totally looks like Napoleon Dynamites. Love that movie.
Me too!!!!
