This week I am saying So What If….

~I still haven’t gotten a chance to work on my holiday blog design make-over.
~I sing along to Miley Cyrus in the car. I can’t help it. Why is it all so catchy?
~I have more plans for December than there are days in December. So many fun holiday activities. So little time.
~David Blaine’s street magic special blew my mind last night. How on earth does he do this stuff? #wtf. Please tell me someone else watched this.
~I was shocked to learn from L that some kids in his class don’t turn in their homework! OMG! I can’t imagine. I feel like his teacher would yell at me and I don’t want that.
~I am super excited about the Winter Games. Every time I see commercials for them I want them to be starting like tomorrow.
~I briefly considered cutting WB’s hair myself. I can’t even believe I considered that.
~I bought a ton of stuff at Trader Joe’s yesterday, but I am not sure that I would be able to make one full meal out of any of it.
~I wanted L’s school to be without power again yesterday so we could have another day of fun.
~I am totally 100% amazed by what SF did for BatKid. So amazing. I love stories like this. Love. Love. Love.
~I turned down the heat down in my house last night so I could use (one of) my new blankets.
~I think WB might know all the cashiers at Target.  And he basically makes them all talk to him while we’re checking out. No one gets by WB without talking to him.  He’ll guilty you into it every time.

That’s it from here. What are you saying so what to this week?

Spread the love

Ha ha! Same with us at Target 🙂 S is always getting the Target stickers from the lady cashiers too! One time a lady chased us down to give him a sticker. And my husband was laughing at me over the weekend when we pulled into the Target lot and S started saying “Target! Target!” Of course that is part of his limited spoken vocabulary 😉

      Ha!!! I love it!!!!

The homework thing gets me too. We turn in the blue homework folder every Friday and N tells me not everyone does. I don’t know if they are doing the work or not but he says they don’t turn in their folder. I know its recommended but not required but still they need to get into the habit of homework.
Your Target comment made me laugh. I went to Harris Teeter twice the other day. Once in the morning with C and then in the afternoon with my sister and she asked if I knew and talked to everyone there. Uhm yes I do when you go in the morning with a cute kid they all know us and him by name. 😉 I have a couple favs at my closest Target too that I will look for when we go but they aren’t always there. 🙁

I can’t imagine not turning in homework or projects on time. Esp. in kinder!!! That must drive the teacher nuts.

The last time I went to Trader Joes that happened. I came home with so much stuff and still had to go to the regular grocery store before dinner. But it was worth it. I love love love their frozen mini tacos. They are so good.

    1. Jennifer

I got home and looked at all my stuff and was like hmm, what will we have for dinner? Cat cookies and apples?? LOL!

  4. Tabitha

That magic stuff was insane last night! I love magicians, they just blow my mind.

    1. Jennifer

seriously. it was crazy. is he human?? I don’t even know how that happened.

  5. Advocarerunner

OMG, I would be so scared to not have my kid turn in homework!!!! Seriously! And that happens to me pretty much every time I go to TJ’s, which is way too often.

    1. Jennifer

I know! What if I got yelled at!! Ahhhhh. I don’t want that!

WINTER OLYMPICS!!! That’s when our DVR blows up because we record everything. Someday we’ll make it to the winter olympics.

oh and BatKid was amazing! The local report got all teary on the morning news and said “I’m just really excited to be here!” My friend’s company gave them time to go cheer him on and she said that is was so positive and fun out there.

    1. Jennifer

That is awesome that companies let their employees to go out there!

  7. Lynsey

Umm David Blaine was AMAZING last night!! Him with Harrison Ford made my week! He only showed him one trick and Han Solo told him to “Get the F&^* out of my house!” LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. Jennifer

OMG I know. I was cracking up. I need to find it on Hulu and watch it again.

  8. Jill

I have to laugh………..at the top of my computer (when I am reading your blog) it always says I am at “rambling sofa.”

This isn’t my link up. It’s Shannon’s. If you click in the So What image you’ll end up on her blog and you can put your link in the link-up!

I watched David Blane! He was good but the icepick and the needle thing was sick. He is that good or he is a nutter!

    1. Jennifer

I feel like it’s a combination those two things!

  10. Natalie

Pumpkin ice cream from Trader Joe’s is amazing!! I discovered it two years ago when they came to KC and I always buy a half dozen of their little pints before the season is over! Love, love it! 🙂

    1. Jennifer

      I should have gotten that!

  11. Alexia561

David Blaine was amazing! We watched, but also taped it so we can go back and try to figure out how he did everything. I don’t think we’ll have much luck as the tricks were awesome!

And while I don’t really care for Miley Cyrus, I find myself singing some of her songs in the car. You’re right, they’re just too catchy!

    1. Jennifer

I hope it’s on Hulu so I can rewatch too!

I Cut my sons hair when he was little because he would not sit still in a chair for anyone. It was horrible and I just kept snipping parts because it was uneven. I don’t know what I was thinking. Since then he has been to sports cuts a few times and seems to do well he is 2.

    1. Jennifer

I feel like this is exactly what would happen to me.

  13. Mrs. L

BatKid was so cool. Lots of my friends took off work to participate and lots of folks had wet eyes after watching the local news. So dang cool.

I too, am waiting for the Olympics. I have a tradition of cooking foods from the host country so I’m already starting to make lists of Russian dishes I want to make (yes, any excuse to go buy some new cookbooks LOL). There is also a Russian Deli nearby that sells some Russian goodies that I’ll be frequenting quite a bit!

    1. Jennifer

Seriously, why don’t I live closer to you?

      1. Mrs. L

Why don’t you live closer to me? Because gas costs almost five bucks a gallon here? Because we pay almost that much for a gallon of milk? Because an average cost of a home around here is about $750,000 and that gets you a fixer upper? I think the better question is, why don’t I live closer to you LOL!

        1. Jennifer

Yes, you should just move here. That would be much easier. And cheaper.

  14. Suzanne

I think that there is a college course for teachers: When a kid gets into trouble make the parents feel like they did it 101!! 🙂

    1. Jennifer

      It works!!!

  15. Lauren

I was the type who was scared that teachers would be mad at me if I didn’t turn in my homework, I’m sure I’ll be the same way when my daughter has homework!

    1. Jennifer

I know! No way on earth I am explaining why we couldn’t turn in a turkey craft / project on time.

  16. wenz

me and my husband were like WTF, WTF the whole time we watched David Blaine show last night

He’s one crazy dude. I love how everybody flipped out. I would too if it happens in front of me

    1. Jennifer

He is a crazy dude. How does he do that stuff???

  17. Lori

I actually attempted to cut G’s hair once myself. Well a couple of friends helped me. (Someone had to hold Gavin down…I couldn’t do it myself…lol but true). My friend and I thought we clip the dogs with clippers all the time…how much different could this be? Answer…WAY different! First of all the dog sits way more still.
After we knew we were in too deep, we made an emergency call to our hairdresser friend. Who squeezed us in…during dinner…on Sunday! Then she yelled at us and on the walk back to my friend’s house after the haircut, G threw himself down in a field and sobbed…after screaming at us. It was one of those great parenting days! He still talks about it. But hey, we were making memories and building character. :0)
So to end this long story…it is probably best you decided not to do it yourself. How much character does a 1 year really need?

    1. Jennifer

How old was he when this all went down? I am cracking up!

      1. Lori

Hmmm. I wanna say it was like 3 years ago…So 7 or 8ish.
