December Hero Dog Box

HeroDogBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a subscription box company focused on providing treats and toys, all made in the U.S., that your dog will love. Boxes start at $19/month and can be customized by the size of your dog.

The Box

HeroDogBox ships via USPS and are mailed out by the 20th of the month. I received my box on Christmas Eve, which was right on schedule – even with the holidays.

First Look

I wasn’t really expecting HeroDogBox, so I opened it without any expectations or thoughts on the box.  The first look was good though!  Nicely packaged, the products looked good, etc.

The Information Card

HeroDogBox doesn’t have a monthly theme (I suspect that is quite difficult with pet boxes), but I thought this box was quite Christmas themed.  Here is what was inside:

~The Honest Kitchen Holiday Quickies ($9.99):  These are tiny little treats which the furries love, but my goodness they smell.  They are made from dehydrated haddock. which explains that.

~Honest Pet Projects Clean Organic Dog Shampoo ($2.49): I didn’t see this in the box at first and didn’t actually find it until I was about to recycle the box!  I thought they just forgot to put it in there.  Dog shampoo is always welcome item and this is organic and smells pretty good.

~Honest Pet Products Eco Rattler ($14.99):  This is suppose to be a durable squeaker toy (it’s made from hemp canvas), but my dogs wouldn’t be the best test of this.  I am going to pass this along to my brother’s dogs who are much rougher than my little ones.

~Lovin from the Oven Treats ($8.99):  I tested these out on the boys when they arrived and they liked them.  They are made from all natural ingredients in the United States and are free from harmful additives and artificial preservatives.

~Paw Street Barkery Blueberry Bone-Anza ($7.99):  These sound / look grew, but they are too crunchy for Baxter and Buddy.  My brother’s dogs will be much more appreciative of them I am sure!

~Tail Bangers: Original Bangers ($9.68):  These are crunchy too, but Baxter and Buddy like licking the frosting off the top.  They are peanut butter flavored and made from all human grade ingredients!

All totaled I came up with a value of $54.13 for the December HeroDogBox, which I think is an amazing deal if you get the 6-month subscription which makes it $19/month or even the month-to-month subscription which makes it $29/month.  It was a little heavy on the treats, but hopefully future months are a better mixture.
