GemmeBox, who kindly sent me this box to review, is a monthly jewelry subscription service brought to you by the House of Gemmes.   The box is $34.99/month and you will be able to select any piece of jewelry from House of Gemmes, or you can choose to be surprised!  House of Gemmes picked for me and sent me two item pieces, but it does say they will select one item for you if you pick the surprise option, so I wouldn’t count on it every month!

The Package

GemmeBox ships via USPS First Class mail and took only a few days to arrive. I think with the holidays over and the freezing weather done, shipping will be back to normal.

First Look

I mentioned it before, but my pieces were selected for me. GemmeBox doesn’t include an information card (likely since most boxes will be different) so I am not totally sure of the names of the pieces, so I am just going to name them #1 and #2.  Here is what I received:

~Earrings #1: Hopefully you can tell from my picture, but these are grey-ish stones.  Not black, but dark and I love them. Of course, I would love them more if they were real diamonds, but that’s not happening so I am happy!

~Earrings #2:  These aren’t as much my style as the last ones, but I thought the quality was great and think on the right person they would totally work.  I would probably end up selecting my own piece every month because on a one piece/month subscription, you’d  want to make sure it was one you loved!

I couldn’t find my pieces on the House of Gemmes site, so I could’t do a cost breakdown.  If you are interested in singing up, or just want to learn more, click here.  In addition to the GemmeBox, you can also opt for a GemmeBox Silver or GemmesBox Gold in which you will receive 3-4 pieces of jewelry every season!

I went on their site , to inquire on their monthly subscriptions.. they state “sold out”… Promo gimmick? or what Jen.. It doesn’t make sense, that this would be sold out, as Gemmes.. are their business.. Ahh well.. so many other boxes to choose from, I loved the chic one that you showed a few months ago, fab items…

I’m not sure. I was looking at that one last month and wondering what was going on. Better to be on a wait list than to take people’s money if you don’t have the product though I suppose?
