Yay!  WB’s May 2014 Citrus Lane box is here!  I received our other May Citrus Lane box on Friday, but WB’s shipped a little later so it took a bit longer to arrive.

If you aren’t familiar, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription box for babies from 0 to 5 which contains four or more products selected especially for the age and stage of your child. Citrus Lane  is $29/month, but they have a coupon code “TAKE20OFF” which lets you pick up your first box for $9! And if you order an annual subscription the price drops down to $19/month!

The Box

Citrus Lane ships via FedEx Smart Post and generally takes about a week to arrive to me.  They ship from the West Coast and I am in Michigan.  This one took 6 days which was right in line with what I expect.

First Look

Eeek!  I never really know what exact age WB’s box is (25 months like he is?  Or 26 months?), so I am never 100% sure what we will get.  I was thrilled to open this box and see the contents.  This was the box for this age group that I had seen and was hoping to get!

The Information Card

The May 2014 Citrus Lane box included items to get you in the spirit of summer and to help you to get ready to spend more time outside.  Here is what was included:

~Hape Track Roller Sand Toy ($4.99):  I just did a giant purge of all of last years icky gross sand toys and am in the process of getting the fresh ones put out, so this is awesome. Plus, I don’t think we have ever had any roller sand toys, so this is better than just a replacement.

~Hape Parthenon Sand Mold ($2.99): Again, a total win.  The boys have already put this in the sandbox and it’s being put to good use.

~Goodbyn Hero (~$14.99): I was SO hoping we’d get another one of these and we did! And it’s a different color to boot!  LOVE it! Now L has one and WB has one. I pack them picnic lunches sometimes in the summer – even when we are just spending the day at home – and these will be idea.  And of course, L will use one for school too.

~Fresh Feet Wipes for Kids from Jasmine Seven ($3.32): These came in L’s box as well and I do not mind spare ones at all.  Nobody wants dirty feet.

~Melissa and Doug Paint with Water ($4.99): I am putting this one away for a rainy summer day.  And I know we’ll have some of those.  I don’t mind a mess, so if WB wants to make a big painting mess, that is fine with me.

~Snack from Back to Nature ($1.50): These cookies are long gone.  I think the kids ate them 30 seconds after they saw them in the box!  Playing outside makes kids hungry that’s for sure!

All totaled I came up with a value of $32.78 for the May 2104 Citrus Lane box (for a 25 Month-Old Boy).  And just like I was with the 4 year-old box, I am thrilled with this one!  Everything is very useful to use right now and I love that we got the Goodbyn before you can even buy them in the stores!

Did you get a Citrus Lane this month?  What age did you get and what came in your box?  If you are interested in subscribing, click here.   Now through 5/31, you can use the coupon code “TAKE20OFF” to save $20 off your first box!  That would make your first Citrus Lane box $9 which is a complete steal!!! You will be enrolled in a monthly subscription (which you can always cancel if you are not happy), but it’s totally an amazing way to try them out!

Nice box. I like mine but I wish we would have gotten a couple of the sand toys. I just purged all of ours and even with the stuff I had pre-bought we could use some more. The Hero box is awesome. I packed Ns lunch in it today and he said he wants me to pack it everyday. I used all the extra cups and he had a little trouble getting the lids on the small ones but I told him he could just stash those inside the bigger compartments. Now I guess I need to get a bag to hold this one. His bag is too small so he just took this alone but he would like it in a bag better I think.

    1. Jennifer

Yeah, this one doesn’t fit in his bag either. I I will need to dig around and see what else we have that could work for it. I am going to be sad when we have to toss that roller!

I just got ours on Saturday, and it’s for a 27 mo old girl. It was almost identical to yours, except the Goodbyn is pink, and instead of the roller sand toy, we got a pink pyramid shape. So I’m thinking everyone around the 2 yr age got pretty much the same thing. I was very happy with this box. I subscribed a few months back, when they had a really good coupon, and prepaid for a year, which worked out to around $17 per month, a great value.

This was a great box! I really want a pink goodbyn for me! They are awesome.

That is cool box, I like the sand toys a lot! I kinda wish we had gotten that same Goodbyn Hero. We got a meal time set by Skip Hop and normally I’d be very happy with that but the design is shark and out of all their designs that’s the only one I don’t like. It kinda creeps me out. But my little guy seems to love it, so maybe it’s so “manly” I don’t get it, LOL. I am really liking our subscription and so glad I came across your reviews and ended up trying it!

    1. Jennifer

LOL! I think we may have a shark one too. I am always trying to get my boys to like the owl one. So far it’s not working!

Those paint pages are great, I bought some for my little guy for Easter. They are surprisingly unmessy, which was quite the perk. They get soggy if you use to much water, a q-tip works better than a regular brush to prevent that.

    1. Jennifer

      Good tip! Thank you!

Our box was almost identical, we just got 2 molds rather than the track thing (I think we’re at 29 month neutral). I would LOVE it, except I happened to see what some other people got, and I wish we had gotten a puzzle in exchange for the water color paints. A puzzle would get more use now, we’re still a bit a way for actual painting with a picture (rather than on blank paper).

    1. Jennifer

Oh I don’t think there will be an actual painting here done either. It will be more smearing of colors!

I was hopping mine could come with the goodbyn but nope 🙁 But it came with the Panda Skip Hop Zoo Melamine Plate and Bowl Set, so it was ok, it included for my girl a pink watch and washable markers, I think it was good and my girl liked all the things in the box 🙂

    1. Jennifer

I really liked the goodbyn. I think I would have been sad to get a plate set instead. I wonder why they didn’t give it to that age group you are in?

      1. Zelene

She is 37 month 🙁 I think it totally have worked for her age or maybe they just run out of them. I hope they send one in my next box 🙂
