WTF with people who live life with their blinds closed? Don’t they need sunshine? I can’t function like that. One of the first things I did in my house was remove all the damn blinds.
Honestly it is the weirdest thing. No one knows.
My Dad always insisted the blinds be closed in the kitchen while we were eating dinner. He said he didn’t want people watching him while they were driving by. (We lived near a cul-de-sac, there was almost zero traffic on our road!) I leave mine open all day until it gets dark now!
Ha!!! That is so funny!!! We don’t even have blinds / curtains on our door wall yet. It’s been 5 years. Everyone can see us eat!
OK I’m one of those people that always has her blinds closed. We don’t even have curtains just blinds and unless I have the windows open which is not often down here then they are closed. In the winter they hold in the heat and in the summer they help keep it out. Maybe your neighbors are from the south and not used to your weather up there 😉

I always hated keeping the blinds closed … until I spent a summer in the south. Seriously, it helps keep some of the heat out, making the AC run less and therefore the power bill stays just a wee bit lower.
Honestly it’s not even that hot here! It’s like 70 right now. Blinds are closed tight!

As for the blinds.. I keep all my blinds open except my living room ones( which are curtains not blinds). I have two panels.. so the deocrative and then a sheer.. i keep the sheer ones closed and i can see out during the day, and noone can see in, but at night.. i can no longer see out and its clear as day looking into my house and that freaks me out..s o closed they go when it gets dark!! 🙂
It hasn’t shipped yet! I ordered a foil cover so that may be why!
I used to leave my blinds closed 24/7 in my old neighborhood because I hated the feeling that strangers walking by (or my nosy neighbors 😉 could peek in whenever they felt like it. Where we live now I don’t have to worry about that and I *love* it! 🙂

I keep the blinds closed in our living room because of the sun glare on the TV and in the guest room because we rarely go in there. I can see Linnea’s point about nosy neighbors. I made my husband go out to the street to make sure he couldn’t see in the screen door before I’d agree to keep the door open, as I hate nosy neighbors! That being said, I always look in open windows during our walks, so guess that makes me nosy too! lol
This isn’t just normal glare. I close my blinds due to the glare on the tv too. This is every window, every inch is covered with a back out shade. 24-7.
