Fair Treasure, who kindly sent me this box to review, sends fair trade items such as jewelry, glass wear, pottery and paper goods, to your door each month. Their goal is to make it easier for everyone to explore the very best that Fair Trade products have to offer… and in turn, providing exposure and supporting the communities of people making these treasures.

FAIR Treasure ships via USPS and, as always, took only a few days to arrive.  FAIR Treasure always ships in a timely manner and is always nicely packaged.

First Look

I couldn’t tell what anything was from the first look.  I had some guesses, but I wasn’t sure on anything.

The Information Card

The July 2014 FAIR Treasure theme was “Travel-Bug Bitten” and included a few items to equip subscribers to embrace the spontaneity of summer.  Here is what was inside:

~World Finds Color Block Scarf / Sarong ($18): These scarves are handmade by women artisans in Agra, India.  They receive a living wage, have safe working conditions, access to healthcare and childcare and receive on-going training and education.  I think it will work better for me as a scarf than as a sarong, but that’s fine because scarves are more me anyway.

~Zen Zen Garden and Home Cosmetic Case / Clutch ($20): I pulled this out of the box kind of thinking it was a straw hat.  Happily, it was not!  It’s a very cute and well made palm leaf pouch.  I’ll probably use it as a cosmetics case, but it’s fancy enough to use as a clutch too.

All totaled I came up with a value of $38 for the July 2014 FAIR treasure box.  I liked the picks this month and think they nailed the theme this month!

I just got my box today! Love the clutch, love the scarf and the colors! I might find some fancy crochet or lacework and stitch it onto one side of the clutch to jazz it up some.

This month and last month’s boxes are tempting me to extend my fairTreasure membership another 3 months….

PS. Thanks for your blog! I’ve been lurking to see which boxes I’d be interested in and have signed up for a few based on your reviews.

      Where your colors the same?

Yes they were! Gorgeous blues and greens on the scarf. I put the scarf on immediately at work, and already had many compliments. Pairs well with an LBD.
