The Box

Fancy Box ships via FedEx and took two days to arrive. It left the East Coast on Monday and arrived to me today (Wednesday).  My PopSugar box, on the other hand, left the East Coast last week (I think on the 3rd) and is currently in West Virginia.  Not even close to me at all.

First Look

Totally loved this first look.  I didn’t recognize anything in it and that always makes me happy.

The Information Card

The July 2014 Fancy Food Box included items to help you stop up your 4pm ritual, whether you are having friends over for high tea or counting down to your afternoon coffee.  Here is what was inside:

~Hey Boo Coconut Jam ($14): The name alone makes me like this!  I am not a giant coconut fan, but I want to see what B comes up to use this for.  Fancy suggests using it on toast or to complement a fruit and cheese plate.

~La Colombe Pure Black Brew ($8): Had I not been holding a Starbucks in my hand when I opened this box up I would have cracked right into this drink.  I stayed up way too late last night and needed some coffee in the worst way.  This is cold-pressed and is described as “extra-strong”.  I will be having this tomorrow morning ;).

~Therm-O-Glass Vessel ($41):I think I am in love.  This is a do everything glass “vessel”.  You can use it to infuse tea (well I could if I liked tea), use it as a water infuser or use it to keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold.  The bottle won’t sweat which is something that drives me crazy in the summer.  And let’s not forget about the gorgeous design of this.  So awesome.

~Blackbird Food Co. Granola ($12): This is good alone or in the morning with your yogurt.  I am going to stash this in my office as a go to snack.

~Mini Stroopwafels ($3.99):  Totally delicious.  If these don’t perk up your afternoon coffee, I don’t know what will.  Love love love!

Mini Stroopwafels

All totaled I came up with a value of $78.99 for the July 2014 Fancy Food Box.  I totally loved this box and was super excited that I did not recognize a single product or brand from this month’s box.  That vessel and coffee alone made this box for me  Everything else was just a bonus!

Did you get Fancy Food Box this month?  What’d you think?  If you are thinking of ordering the Fancy Food Box, click here! Fancy Boxes are $39 + $7.95 shipping, but you can always use the coupon code “FOLLOWUP10″ (sometimes this works – sometimes not) to save 10% on any Fancy.com, order, including subscription boxes.  If you are looking for any of the other Fancy Box boxes (including Mystery Boxes), I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site, which I find quite confusing at times.

Oooh, the srikaya coconut jam is from Singapore. I loved it when we visited an d it was my go to snack.U can have it for breakfast like this.
Toast two slices of white bread. Cut the edges. Add the jam on 1 slice and add chunks of cold salted butter on the other side. The sweet and salty tastes so good together. But its not for everyone. Some people like it, some don’t. Try it out! 🙂

You are making it sound amazing!

      1. Swati

Oh it is. I still dream about it 😉

It’s boxes like this that keep me getting subscription boxes. Full of cool stuff I didn’t even know I needed or wanted! I’d try any one of the food items and I too, hate bottles that sweat in the summer (I’ve gotten used to grabbing some napkins anytime I get an iced coffee or tea anywhere). Cool box.

I know right? Who knew I needed a $41 vessel for my drinks. Not me.

i feel like the Fancy food box is the only Fancy box worth getting…the other ones seem a little inconsistent but this one seems to be a good value.

  4. Iris

Ahhhh, is it still possible to get this box? Because it looks amazing!

Also – is the vessel better than the S’well water bottle? Thank you! 🙂

    1. Jennifer

No, if you signed up now you’d get the August box.

As for which is better, they are totally different so I don’t know? The vessel is real glass so you wouldn’t want to throw it in your bag like you could with the S’well one!

  5. Jenna

Is it possible to still get this box? This is the first Fancy box that I actually want.

    1. Jennifer

No. If you signed up now you’d get the August box as your first one.

I wish I had this sub now – great box! FOLLOWUP10 is no longer working for me – I keep trying to sub to this and/or the Nicky Hilton Fancy Box using that code, but no luck. The code used to work for me if I left something in the cart and then came back to it a day or two later. I’m like a mental patient now trying to get $4 off. Totally would have paid the full price for this had I known the contents – lol.

    1. Jennifer

LOL. I wonder why it works and sometimes not!

  7. Ashley

i was totally wowed by my first box! i love it for the stroopwafels and glass vessel alone! i had my doubts about this box, but they proved me wrong… so looking forward to the next one!

    1. Jennifer

It was a really good one! I hope next month is fabulous too.

  8. Jay

Awesome box. I was thinking about cancelling Fancy for another box, but so glad I did not. Although we have definitely received our share infusers this summer, I am really excited about trying the Therm-O-Glass (just hope I don’t drop and break it).

I am also interested in seeing how the wafels compare to the ones that were in a box we received from Fancy earlier this year — was it January’s box????

    1. Jennifer

I think I like these better. Maybe because they are smaller? And still individually wrapped??

  9. Kara

Is the box automatically sent and charged every month or do you have to sign in and order it every month?

    1. Jennifer

You will automatically be billed monthly unless you cancel!

  10. Kara

When does the box usually ship?

    1. Jennifer

I usually get it by the 10th of the month. I think usually around the 5th or 6th??
