I have a Julep question for you, and your devoted followers…. Do you find that Julep nail polish takes forever to dry? I am starting to accumulate quite a collection of it, but the last couple of times I’ve used it (different colors each time) it seems like they smudge hours later. I love their colors, but am starting to get discouraged. Thanks!

I always use the quick dry drops so I think that helps.

I have noticed that the creme finishes of Julep have been getting thicker and goopey-er over the months. And the problem is that then it requires you to use 4 coats to make it even. The solution I have found is to use Seche Vite top coat. It dries it rock hard within about 5 minutes. I tried Julep’s Freedom Polymer Top Coat and it was an epic fail – my nail polish would peel off in one sheet the next day…not the case with Seche Vite…and you can get SV for 4.99 on eBay 🙂 Hope that helps 🙂

I second the Seche Vite topcoat. That’s usually what I use. I can finish doing my nails at like 10 PM, go to bed an hour or two later, and not have any problems in the morning.

It’s not 3-free, though — it reeks of toluene (I know the smell of toluene because I used it as a solvent every now and then in grad school). That’s not a biggie for me, but it might be important to some people.

I use the Freedom topcoat and I have no issues with it. If I really need to use my hands right away I use the quick dry drops and that is super speedy. I love my Juleps and part of it is how fast I think they dry.

      Jody,

I have been sitting at my office desk since 9 AM when I did my nails w/ Julep polish.. it’s now 1:30… and they just smudged like 20 min ago.. to the point I will have to redo two nails or just trash it.

I wonder sometimes why I even buy Julep polish but somehow their deals sucker me into believeing the quality is there.

    Hi Jennifer,

I am thinking of getting one subscription box and am confused between Popsugar (September) and FabFitFun. Which one would you recommend?

    Thanks.

    1. Jennifer

I have always been a big PopSugar fan, but I do love FFF as well. I guess it depends mainly on if you want a box monthly or quarterly??

do you have to be a first time member to get the googaroo deal on rue la la?

    1. Jennifer

I am not 100% sure on that one. Check the fine print. If it doesn’t say you do you should be fine. I would assume it won’t work for an existing subscriber though?

Did you decide on Julep this month? I’m thinking of skipping while I like the colors the collection just doesn’t wow me like last month.

    1. Jennifer

Totally didn’t wow me like last month. But I ended up going for Bombshell.

  5. Shannon

Are you getting a Maven box this month? I made 8 different selections but finally decided on the boho glam box + the ana add on!

    1. Jennifer

I went for Bombshell this month. I am all about the glitter.
