My October Kelly Rowland Fancy Box arrived this morning and I was super anxious to see what was inside. You just never know what you are going to get with Fancy and that is one of the reasons I like them!
Just in case you aren’t familiar, Fancy, which is $39/month (plus shipping), has a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies and also celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Kelly Rowland, The Rockettes, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Coco Rocha, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain and / or Nicky Hilton. They also offer a Fancy Food Box (which is one of my favorites), a Culinary Box and Fancy Mystery Boxes.
Fancy Box ships via FedEx. This box shipped on Monday and I received it today (which was a Wednesday). They ship from the East Coast, so they never take too long to get to me.
This box felt quite empty and when I looked inside I realized that it actually was quite empty. I will never understand why they don’t use smaller boxes.
The October 2014 Kelly Rowland Fancy Box didn’t have an information card, but from looking at the items I could tell it had an “Outer Space” theme. Here is what was included:
~Galaxy Wallet by Paperwallet ($14): I’m not quite sure what I am going to do with this, but I am fascinated with these paper wallets. They seem like they are so easy to rip, but they totally aren’t. I think they are made from Tyvek or something similar.
~Celestial Decals by DIY Nails ($10): I never use decals on all of my nails at once, but I like the way they look on a single nail or two. And super random, but I have a tattoo on my back just like that sun in the top row. LOL! I am pretty sure some of my friends have moon ones like the one in that top row too.
~Kitsch Charm Jewelry – Be Electric ($32): This set is slightly different than the one I linked to (lightening bolts vs. moons), but they are equally cute. They are small and delicate and would look good together or alone.
~Walls Need Love Decals ($12): I haven’t read too much about these yet, but I am hoping that they work on wood so I can use them in L’s swing set. If not I will figure out something else to do with them. Maybe I could do something cool with them in the playroom.
~American Apparel Glow in the Dark Polish (Neptune) ($18): So I like this nail polish (and all other nail polishes really) and am happy about it, but why I got three of them I just don’t get. They are sold on Fancy in sets of three, which I don’t understand either. Why does anyone need three of the exact same color polishes? That’s a lot of blue glow in the dark polish. It also comes in “Moon” and “Jupiter” so wouldn’t it make more sense to include one of each in a set?
All totaled I came up with a value of $86 for the October 2014 Kelly Rowland Fancy Box. I liked the theme (or at least what I thought the theme was) and thought it was well curated, but I am still suck on the fact that we got three of the same color polishes.

I think it is odd that you got three of the same color polishes too! Considering glow in the dark isn’t probably something you’ll use daily, it will take FOREVER to use those up!
It would take me forever to use 3 bottles of my favorite polish color much less blue glow in the dark polish.
I don’t understand why there are 3 nailpolishes either. At least Fancy did not cheap out by sending one out of the package.

Re the size of the boxes…..I get things from HSN too in oddly oversized boxes. But, they use the same sized box for a lot of things (some will be nearly empty and some pretty full).
I am thinking it has something to do with their shipping partner deals. It is probably more cost effective to have a number of boxes all in certain size packed and shipped easily. Would be easier to put into shipping containers, etc.
Just my thought.

This was my very first fancy box, and over 2 months of debate i picked kelly rowlands box because after looking at picture and reviews of others i decided hers was more “me” let me just say i love the fact that this box had an awesome theme! I love the necklace & earings, i put them on as soon as i opened it.. wall decals have already found a place on my wall. Galaxy wallet, while i’m not sure what to do with it i think its pretty cool and i usually just carry a small clutch and throw my credit cards and money in there this might actually come in handy. Nail polish and nail decals, I love the nail polish but i’m not sure why i would need 3 bottles of the same color so most likely i will use 2 of them as stocking stuffers for my nieces along with the nail decals.
I will end up gifting mine too. At first I thought it was a mistake that I got 3 bottles, but then I looked on the site and realized that is how they are sold. So strange.
I order all my personalized wall decals from Walls Need Love and I think they’re a great brand!
Seems like a pretty junky box to me; almost $50 and not one thing of real value. The only thing I kind of like is the nail polish, and I sure wouldn’t need 3 bottles.
The 3 bottles really has me at a loss.
