My November 2014 Socialbliss Style Box has arrived! I hadn’t heard too much about this box this month and I wasn’t quite sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing!

If you aren’t familiar, the Style Box by Socialbliss, is a fashion, lifestyle and accessories box. Boxes contain items which may be featured on the Socialbliss site, along with others that are emerging hot items not yet available to the public. Boxes are $47.90 ($39.95 plus $7.95 shipping) and promise a monthly value of at least $100.

Socialbliss ships via USPS Priority Mail around the 20th of the month.  I actually thought this month was going to be delayed because I hadn’t heard anything about it, but it ended up going out only one day late which wasn’t a big deal at all.

First Look

I wasn’t totally sure what to make of the first look.  I was curious to see more!

The Information Card

The November 2014 Socialbliss Style Box theme was “Seventies Flare” and included the following items to recapture the 70’s fall trends that are resurfacing and captivating the runway:

~Fringe for Days by Antik Kraft ($40): I can’t find the price of this online, so I went with the suggested retail price from the information card. I don’t hate this bag, but I don’t love it either.  You can use it as a shoulder bag or a clutch and the fringe piece is removeable.

~Fierce in Fringe Tassel Necklace by T+J Designs ($68): Hmm.  This is really gold.  Like really bright gold.  On the right person, with the right outfit, I can see it.  On me?  Not so much.

~mark. on the Dot Lip Palette ($16): Love this!  The colors are gorgeous and we don’t get a ton of lip palettes, so this is a nice change of pace.  Kind of related, but I used to love mark. products.  They had some really good lotions I liked.  I need to see if I can find those again!

~Carnelian Semi Prescious Stone Ring ($14 per the card): I got this out of the pouch and honestly thought it was missing something.  I’m just not feeling it.

~The Bravado Bracelet ($12 per the card): I like this bracelet, but I do wish it were silver!

All totaled, using prices listed on the information card, I came up with a value of $150 for the November 2014 Socialbliss Style Box. I liked last month’s box with the wallet, but I am not feeling this one.  I think it’s the 7o-‘s theme.  I know some people love it, but it’s just not “me”.

The ONLY thing I liked and will use is the lip palette. The bag, no way. The necklace (rope) that I received is silver and so heavy that it would be uncomfortable to wear. I also thought there was something missing when I saw the “ring”. Of course anything circular could be considered a ring so why not. I’m also not “feeling it”. The bracelet? Meh. It’s OK but I think I’m a little too old to pull it off so will gift it. I cancelled my sub last month and this box finished out my subscription. I was hoping to finish on a high note, instead got the opposite. I’m just glad this was the LAST box of my subscription instead of the first!

I like the bag minus the fringe and I’d love to get that lip palette, that’s about as far as I go with makeup… this girl knows not how to apply it. One day I’ll learn I guess.

  3. Liz

So glad I cancelled this box.

I think this kind of box is hard to do. Maybe if they let subscribers create profiles it would be better.

That would be a good idea!

Someone explain the fringe to me for the bag. Looks stupid. Ring – eh.

Necklace, bracelet and lip gloss I like.

    1. Pilar

I don’t understand the bag either.

Honestly you could take off the fringe part and wear it as an arm cuff. I don’t know why you would, but you could. It’s…..different.

    2. Jennifer

If only I could explain it.

Wow, this subscription box started out so promising and have just gone downhill ever since. I cancelled months ago – it’s really a shame. Maybe they should hire one of us to curate their boxes lol.

  7. Stacie

I really like the bag without the fringe! Ha, probably not the point though huh? Actually the love the bracelet!

  8. Lynsey

The Necklace is on sale for $26, the lip stuff looks nice!

I keep reading the reviews on this box thinking I’ll see a good one and want to jump on this sub…but they keeping being meh and not really enticing me even though in theory, this would be just the kind of sub I would like?
