Friday’s Letters

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

Dear Elf on the Shelf, Why do you need to be sold at every store on earth? I thought Santa sent you magically? It’s going to get super confusing when L realizes that the Elf at Target is the same one Santa sent to his house.

Dear L, You don’t know it yet, but your favorite cousin and BFF is coming down from up-north to spend the night tonight! I can’t wait to see how excited you are.

Dear The Tabloids, How many times have you said Jennifer Aniston is pregnant? She’s pregnant every other month according to you guys. I wonder what’s going to happen if she really has a baby? No one will ever believe it.

Dear Television Without Pity, I still miss you.

Dear USPS Tracking Notifications, I love getting you and think that the service is awesome, but I do not understand why I need to get 3 text messages per tracking update. One to tell me about the package, one to confirm that I subscribed to this and another to just confirm all this.

Dear Christmas Cards, You win, I ordered you.

Dear Baxter, I know you can jump on the bed by yourself so I don’t know why you feel the need to cry in the middle of the night so I will pick you up and help you.  But you know I will, so you continue it.

Dear B, Congrats on finishing up the semester!  It’s going toy be nice having you home every night!

I love the USPS shipping notifications too–I get the emails, but it is almost overkill with the details. I really don’t need to know if the sorting is complete.

I am cracking up. Package arrived. Sorting complete. Mailman went to the bathroom. Out for Delivery.

The elves at Target are self-employed 😉 They still want to spread some Christmas cheer, though, this is why they collaborate with Target to get to people’s homes.
DHL tracking is using less messages than USPS, I guess. I only ever get a message when a package for me has arrived, yet they never notify me when I send something. Last year, right around Christmas, their tracking site showed that a package had not moved in 5 days, even though it had already been delivered…
    Hooray for the Christmas cards!

I am tracking up! They are self-employed! HA!

YES to the shipping notifications! I love the service but omg enough!

I just don’t get why I need 3 notifications on the same package when it does everything. One is more than enough!

My children decided it would be more fun if Mommy is sick with them 🙁 My Rat Terrier dos the same thing too. I miss TWOP. I read Previously TV which is not the same. What is the deal with the USPS notifications? Is that from signing up for an account?

    1. theramblingjen

Oh no! Are you feeling better??

I signed up for the My USPS thing and opted in for text alerts on my packages. That may have been a bad idea.

I top would like to know how to explain the whole elf on the shelf everywhere we go.. he is magic darn it.. I go there so much work every the least they could do is help me out a tad.

So many USPS texts. So many.

I’m so glad I found your blog today! I can relate to so many of your letters today! My child isn’t old enough for Elf of a shelf but I could see how that would become a problem once they see them at the store! Yikes. We are big amazon shoppers, but USPS and UPS kill me with their tracking notifications – and most of the time USPS is wrong!

I’m glad you did too! And OMG, those USPS notifications. I know everything that package ever does!

I feel the same way about the Elf. He’s everywhere, fortunately my kids haven’t SEEN him everywhere. LOL. I just picked up my Christmas cards from Sam’s Club. The girls picture with Santa turned out great this year, so made a personalized card. I got 50 cards for $15, and my order was ready to be picked up in store in 24 hrs.

I was this close to using a Santa picture for mine too!!!
