Hamptons Lane, who kindly sent me this box to review, curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc.  Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.

The Box

My Hamptons Lane box shipped via FedEx, but I am guessing that is because it was a review box. If you are a subscriber, let me know how your boxes normally ship because I didn’t see it on the website.

This month’s box was huge!  If didn’t have the normal blue Hamptons Lane box because there was just too much stuff to fit in it.

The Information Card

The January 2015 Hamptons Lane theme is “Healthy Eating” and featuring selections from “David Zinczenko”, creator of the Zero-Belly Diet.  Here are the tools he included to transform meals into a healthy feast:

~World Cuisine Spiral Vegetable Slicer ($33.24):  This is one kitchen gadget that we don’t already own and it’s a great addition.  B actually commented that he was looking at them at the store the other day. You can turn most many vegetable into “endless ringed spirals” of noodles.  I am thinking of sweet potato curly fries and zucchini pasta to start.

~Chia Ginger Superfood Cereal Nuts.com ($6.99): This combination doesn’t look appetizing (not to me anyway), but it tasted good. It’s a mix of super grains chia, quinoa and berries and can he used as a topping on greek yogurt or fresh fruit.

~jojo’s sriracha Chili Sauce ($14): In small quantities I can handle sriracha.  It really does add a great flavor to otherwise not so amazing foods.

~Greenpoint Trading Dracula’s Nightmare ($6.25): Hamptons Lane gave a few suggestions for this one, but I am pretty sure we’ll just be using it on grilled chicken.  There is a lot of grilled chicken being eaten in our house right now and anything we can do to make it taste a little different is welcome.

~Better Off Spread Spicy Peppery Organic Peanut Butter ($10): I have actually received this in a box in the past and my feelings are still mixed on it.  I need to be in the mood for spicy peanut butter.  It’s not something I want to have everyday, but once in a while it’s fun.

All totaled I came up with a value of $70.48 for the January 2015 Hamptons Lane box.  This box was perfect timing for B and I and I am so going to the grocery store tomorrow to get some zucchinis to test out that spiralizer with!

I bet that spicy peanut butter would make a great peanut sauce (a la thai food) for some grilled chicken

  2. marilyn

That peanut butter would probably be delicious in a Pad Thai dish.

I was just about to tell you to use the peanut butter in cold sesame noodles, but I see that these other lovely ladies have beaten me to the punch!
