The Box

Little Lace Box ships via USPS Priority Mail and took just two days to arrive.  I received a tracking notification for it on Friday and it arrived yesterday – Monday.  They generally ship the last ten days of the month and will note on the website when you can expect shipment for a month.

First Look

This first look was after I took the top layer of packing peanuts out.  This was a big box and it had a lot of packing peanuts in it!

Second First Look

The spoilers for this one came out about an hour before I actually received by box, but you know I had to look and spoil it for myself.  I am always just so excited about this one that I have to know what’s in it!

The Information Card

The January 2015 Little Lace Box was curated around a theme called “The Dining Car”.  It was selected to commemorate the beginning of the fifth season of Downton Abbey on PBS and included the following “practical vintage” items:

~Siena Tea Collection – Tea for One ($23.99): I may not like tea, but I do love this teapot! According to LLB, it’s a throwback to the Edwardian era in England when tea was custom-prepared, one cup at a time, based on each guest’s preference.  This could inspire me to learn to like tea.  Maybe.

~Lucy B’s Roll-On Perfume Oil (Royal Green Fig & Vanilla Woods) ($19): I love this.  All of the scents sounded great (and I am probably going to try and trade for a few others), but I am thrilled with this Royal Green Fig and Vanilla Woods.  It was kind of heavy at first, but it settled nicely and was a great warm scent.

~Classic Edwardian Hair Jewelry Bobby Pin Set ($14): LLB said that they didn’t want to fill the box with vintage jewelry (which I appreciated), but they did want to include something that was both beautiful and practical.  I won’t wear these a ton, but I will make sure to get some use out of them because they are so pretty.

~Beekman 1802 Authentic Hand-forged Britannia Fruit Spoon ($20): I had no idea what a fruit spoon was until yesterday.  At first I thought maybe it was a special spoon for scooping out fruit (like grapefruit or whatever), but it turns out it’s just a big fancy spoon you eat fruit with.  I’m good with that.

~Royal Apothic Bubble Cream (Holland Park) ($20): I am totally 100% obsessed with all things Royal Apothic.  And this Bubble Cream is awesome.  It’s a like a shower gel, but it lathers way better.  I love it!

~How To Be A Lady ($12.01): This book is timeless.  I giggled at a few of the suggestions, but LLB is right, there is nothing vintage about proper manners.  This book is good now and will still be good in 30 years.

~Capital Bee Raw Hand Cut Holly Honeycomb ($7): B just made homemade biscuits over the weekend, but wasn’t thrilled with how they turned out, so maybe this honey will inspire him to try again.  Honey on warm biscuits is fantastic and such a treat!

All totaled I came up with a value of $116 for the January 2015 Little Lace Box.  As usual, they more than nailed the theme this month.  Their curation is spot on and listen, these girls (LLB is made up of three sisters) have taste.  I totally trust their picks and just absolutely love this box.

What do you think of Little Lace Box?  If you are interested in ordering or just want to learn more, click here and use the coupon code “Rambling10” to save $10 off your first box.  The February 2015 theme is “The Lovers, the Dreamers and Me” and will be a box for those of us who are still searching.  And a box for those of us who have found it.  It will include hidden gems for you and your home.  The box isn’t sold out yet, but it will be soon so get over there and get it ordered!  Their website was getting slammed yesterday, but it seems to be better now!

I do not know what happened earlier today when I tried to order this but tried again and it let me have one! HIp hip Hooray! I cannot wait to get my box next month!

I just got one as well, after trying yesterday and this morning. This box seems like it might be more my style than Popsugar. But I’ll be trying both for a few months as your reviews always look so good. And Thank you so much for the code!

So do you think there are color variations in the teapot? I know there are scent variations in the perfume but im curious about the tea pot. Im very excited about this box.

I got a green teapot, which made me happy. Then I looked around my office and realized that I have another green teapot and a green sugar bowl also sitting on my desk. Guess I like green LOL!

I got the cream and purple, I really like it!

I love my little mini teapot LOL! The only thing is that I am such a maniacal tea drinker, I usually use loose-leaf teas. I was excited to use it first thing this morning so I have tea leaves floating around my cup this morning but I am going to order a strainer or fillable teabags to use with it. And maybe a water boiler so I can just keep refilling it without having to walk down to the kitchenette for every refill. LOVE! I’m going to use the spoon as a serving spoon, it’s going to look beautiful with a crystal bowl filled with fresh strawberries in the spring!!!!!! And the honey… it’s so pretty in the jar I’m almost afraid to use any! Almost. 😀

Soo excited I just signed up for February!!! 🙂

I tried again today, after giving up last night, I got through!

  8. Kate

That is just about the most precious box I think I’ve ever seen. Of course I *have* to have that teapot, ordered one off Amazon as soon as I saw it last night. This company sure has a lot riding on it’s February box, what with all the rush to get in in the subscription. I hope they continue on the path they are on. (and I hope I don’t curse them by joining!)

This looks like a great box!!! Unfortunately, another that doesn’t ship to Canada. I love to see what you got though.

If I wasn’t on a subscription box hiatus right now to save for backpacking Europe later this year I would be ALL. OVER. THIS. Definitely on my list of things to sign up for when I return.

FYI: I used the points I earned from reviewing their November box toward buying February and only paid $14.49. Pretty sweet!
