My Pretend Place, who kindly sent me this box to review, offers a quarterly Dress Up Play subscription box for children aged 3-6. Each box includes dress-up costumes, activities or crafts, and other pretend play inspiration. They also offer a monthly Craft Subscription Box ($15/month) which is designed for children 3-8 years of age. It includes materials and instructions they need to create a new pretend play item each month.

I have been super excited about this box since it was first announced so I was beyond excited to open it up and check it out.  And it did not disappoint!

My Pretend Place

My Pretend Place doesn’t include an information card (this is actually a magnet), but it was pretty clear my theme was “Princess”.  If you subscribe now, the “Girl” theme is Princess, the “Boy” theme is “Astronaut” and the “Gender Neutral” theme is Safari.  Here is what my “Princess” themed box included:

~Melissa & Doug Princess Role Play Set ($29.99): OMG how cute is this?  Totally love!  One of my friend’s daughter’s is turning 3 next month and this is perfection.  It comes with a princess dress, a crown and a wand.  So stinkin cute!

~Melissa & Doug Princess Stamp Set ($9.99): My boys have these stamps (well, not the princess ones, but the same type of set) and we love them.  Stamps might be a little messy for the younger ones, but they are fun.

~Melissa and Doug Decorate Your Own Wooden Princess Mirror ($6.99): Every princess needs a mirror to check out her crown right?  And you can glitter this one up, decorate it with stickers or whatever your little one wants.

~Don’t Kiss the Frog Book ($7.97): The box also includes a book that has “Princess Stories with Attitude”.  I love it!

All totaled I came up with a value of $54.94 for the “Princess” themed My Pretend Place Dress-Up Subscription Box and I thought it was totally adorable.  The box also included an envelope with a few foam stickers and a handle to turn your box into a dress-up trunk! I love that this box is quarterly and I think it’d be a perfect gift for any little one.  So so cute! Can you tell I like this?

If you are interested in subscribing to My Pretend Place you can use the coupon code “pretend” to save 30% off your first box which brings the cost down to only $35!  I mentioned it above, but if you subscribe now the Girl Box option is Princess, the Boy option is Astronaut and the General Neutral option is Safari!

This is such a cute idea. My daughter would have LOVED this but she’s a teen now. My son isn’t into pretend play, just football, football, xbox and football.

My 2 year-old isn’t quite into dress-up yet, but I might do the Astronaut one now for him and save it for a bit!

Awww this is such a cute sub!! I just don’t like how the value of the box is just a few dollars more than the cost of the box. Especially since you can find Melissa and Doug items on sale all the time. My daughter would absolutely freak if she got this in the mail though!!

I know! Could you even imagine opening this up as a 4 year-old girl? OMG!

Thanks for doing this review…I’d like to sign up for this one but actually, I think my daughter wouldn’t mind being an astronaut. She also likes dresses…so I sort of want to get this for her…hmmm…
