Two questions today…..

1. Do you wear a watch? With all the news of the new Apple Watch (which might be one of the only Apple products I have KNOWN instantly I don’t want), it got me wondering, how many people wear a watch these days?  It’s obviously way quicker to check the time on a watch instead of pulling out your phone, but they aren’t me I guess?  I like bracelets and I like watches on other people though.

2. What frustrates / annoys you the most about subscription boxes? I can handle late shipping (as long as they are good about communicating it) and I understand that the contents won’t always be amazing for me, but I don’t like when you can’t cancel online! Ahhh! If I don’t want a box anymore, I want to just be able to go online and cancel it.  You don’t have to call to order it, so why do you have to call to cancel?  I mean, I guess I get it from a business point of view, but I’d prefer to be able to cancel online.

Can’t wait to hear your answers!

Yes!! Having to call to cancel is annoying. Even having to email to cancel is annoying. They should just have a cancel button on their website.

I wear a watch! I’m useless without it to be honest. I use it to time my lunches at work and pretty much just because I’ve been wearing one practically my entire life. I’m not a fan of smart watches though- I’m all about the classic Rolex/Breitling/etc style… though I have been known to rock a boyfriend style one occasionally- however it doesn’t work with my fitbit flex…. so I’ve been wearing the smaller ones so I can wear both.

And I know! I have a feeling that they make you do that because they want the ability to talk you out of it? Which is obnoxious to me. What’s even worse is when they require you to call and don’t answer the phone…. Popsugar is really nice and easy to cancel.. and I’ve had amazing luck putting my KitNip box on pause.. they were beyond helpful via email.

I bought a watch at an after-Christmas sale because I thought I REALLY wanted one. I’ve worn it maybe twice. I wear my FitBit all the time now, so it’d be awkward to have a watch with it.

I hate inflated values in sub boxes! Don’t lie to me about what it’s worth. I have Google. A consequence of this is people taking a hardline on these inflated values in swaps. Annoying.

Yes I wear a watch for shopping but not at work .computer in my room and a clock and an assistant named Larry who keeps pointing at his watch or my clock
And so annoying the phone thing ..I’m sure they r hoping u won’t do it..or talk u out of it…
Also hate when u order a sample u r suddenly a monthly member and not aware..they do not disclose it..badnews

  5. Cindy

Hey what about that bachelor …..no watch. …work have clock and computer and Larry who points t his wrist or my clock…use one shopping tho
And yes hate when sub boxes make u call so yes they’ll talk u out of or u just won’t
Also hate signing up for sample and it’s not disclosed you r now a member for life…lo!

I do wear a watch! My stepmom passed away about 12 years ago and left her Rolex to me. I didn’t know what to do with it really, because I mean, it’s a Rolex. It’s worth more than my car. But my dad insisted I wear it, even to the barn. So I do. Who am I to argue? It’s actually amazing, because I think of her every time I look at the time. It’s nice to carry a bit of her with me every day.
AGREED on the calling to cancel front. Sometimes I just cancel the payments through paypal instead… I mean honestly, who has time for phone calls these days?!

I also hate not being able to cancel online!
The other thing that bothers me (and this is probably so petty) is those little squiggly pieces of packing paper certain boxes use (like Sample Society!). They always end up all over my house! Come on, just use tissue paper please!

  8. Britney

    1. Yes, I’m a big time watch wearer… If I leave the house without one on I freak out and think it broke and I lost it somewhere.
    2. Online cancelling is also one of my buggaboos, and websites that aren’t mobile or tablet friendly! My only other is getting a “your item has shipped” email when it’s actually it waiting to be picked up or the label has only been created.

  9. Elizabeth

I don’t wear a watch but I really need to get back to wearing one.

I can’t stand when you can’t cancel boxes online. (You can’t cancel Kiwi Crate online but that’s just a voicemail you call and leave and they send the email confirmation almost immediately). Having to talk to a rep. who wants to try to convince me to continue is a total pain.

I wear a watch but it is a faux metal type watch that is loose and bangly so kindof like a bracelet. I’m not really found of leather watch bands anymore or plastic one however I do have some fun plastic ones. Mine right now is a Mickey one (of course) from Kohls that I think only cost about $20 but I then don’t worry if I get it wet or scratched or anything since I’d just go and get another one.

I would agree with you on the cancel online thing. I know I’m not going to like everything in every box but when I’m done with a box I want to be able to cancel easily and since most of them would have us calling california the time difference makes doing those calls difficult. I want to get on and cancel. Of course if they had a skip function easily online that would be nice too. Sometimes I just want to skip a month and not out right cancel but I know they plan for a certain number sold each month so that would be harder to do.

My fiance and I just preordered some smart watches. We both are really interested in how they work because we are both computer science majors. We could even develop an application to work on the smart watches which is really awesome. Those won’t be here until July though!

Not being able to cancel online definitely. Or how canceling in general can be a pain! I wanted to cancel my FFF account and I requested to cancel 3 times. I was told I would get a response in 5 days, but I didn’t get any notification for over a month! I ended up having to submit an issue about a box instead of just using the cancellation button! I felt my Naturebox cancellation was easier and I had to email them to cancel.

    1. Stacey

I’m with you about FFF VIP! I cancelled last week and even got a “we want you back” coupon, but then they still charged me yesterday. I emailed and still haven’t heard back, I’m sure they received many emails with the same issue with their unhelpful way to cancel.

    2. Caitlin

I had that same issue with FFF! I cancelled months ago and still got charged. Had to call and submit a request online, but they took care of it quickly.

    1) I do not wear a watch! I don’t wear much on my wrists because they can make my arms feel heavy and it annoys me when they pinch or spin around.

    2) The same! I hate having to call up! No thank you! It also bugs me when a box that is not a food box fills up with food items. Don’t get me wrong, I *love* trying new foods and a couple is fine. I am signed up for several food-specific boxes for that, though. I do not need other boxes to bring in more food. 😛

    1. Jennifer

Hammock Pack was lots of food last month! I mean it was good food, but I have snack boxes for that!

It’s funny because I used to be attached to my watch and felt naked without it. That was probably eight years ago. One day, the watch I was wearing irritated my skin all of the sudden and I took it off. I’ve never worn a watch again. It’s mind-boggling to me how I stopped cold turkey! And, yes, I definitely miss it sometimes, especially when I can’t find my phone at the bottom of my purse! 😉

I’m with you, Jennifer, about cancelling subscription boxes! If I don’t have the option to cancel a subscription box online, it irritates me and almost always stops me from ordering a subscription from that company. A new irritation I’ve found is when a company won’t have the option to order a box month-by-month. For people like me who live paycheck-to-paycheck, I cannot afford to pay for three months up-front. I was quite excited to learn that Jamberry had a subscription box because I’ve wanted to try them out, but you have to purchase three months in advance. I’m sad to say I never have an extra $75 just sitting around. 🙁

I only wear a watch for work. I have a citizen eco drive, its charged by the light of the sun. I love it. I don’t wear a watch on my days off, I go at my own pace. I think it’s so annoying when you have to share stuff on Facebook. I don’t have Facebook so I can’t get sneak peaks or extra points. I had to wait 5 months and 2 letters (one not so nice) to finally get off a waitlist because I don’t do Facebook.

  15. Hannah

    1. I do wear a watch, but usually only to work or out to dinner/shopping (pretty much when I’m not at home in sweats). I love FOSSIL watches. I have a leather one & a metal link one, both very different from the other. I don’t see the need to own more than 1 or 2 at a time though, like some people who have one for every outfit! 😉
    2. I don’t get enough subscription boxes to really be annoyed by anything, & the ones I’ve cancelled have all been online. I wish they were cheaper so I could get a lot more of them! 😉 I just REALLY hope they stay around because I want to know how the baby/kid boxes are which is a few years off for me. When I got my kitten in November the 1st thing I thought was “Now I can get an animal box!” but then I took her to her 1st vet appt & realized another subscription box was no longer in the budget.

  16. Susan

    1) I have to wear a watch every day. I just feel completely “off” all day if I don’t have a watch on. However, I’m not so sure about the apple / smart watches. I don’t consider myself old, but in my 40’s & my eyesight is starting to get to the point of reading glasses. That being said, I think that the fonts would be too small for me to try to read easily. I have trouble sometimes on my iPhone. I honestly prefer my iPad for reading.
    2) I hate the “no online cancellation” for sure. But even more than that, I agree with the previous commenter about requiring a Facebook post to do certain things. I do have a Facebook account, but use it strictly for communicating with family & friends. The last thing I want to do is try to sell them something. That’s one thing I hate about IPSY. In fact, I’m getting ready to cancel it, and that’s one of the reasons.
