Two questions today…..

1. What’s your favorite kid’s tv show? If you have kiddos, which of their shows do you like? Which do you totally hate? I am a big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba (WB isn’t though), Curious George (LOVE) and Cat In the Hat! We don’t have cable so unless watch on Netflix, PBS is what we’ll watch. I cannot stand Caillou and Daniel Tiger. No No No!

2. What’s your favorite US Vacation Spot? I think we have done this one before, but I just love hearing about everyone favorite spots. Vegas has been our “go to” lately because it’s pretty much the only place my entire family can agree on (including the kids), but I also love San Diego, the San Francisco area and Chicago is a great little weekend trip from MI!

Now it’s your turn!  Can’t wait to hear everyone’s thoughts on these!

Spread the love

We do not have cable either. Its great for us. My kids are a little older than yours. 10,7, 5 and they love Brain Games (netflix), Sarah Jane Stories (hulu its the kids version of Dr Who) Gravity Falls which we have to download. Ive always been partial to Wild Kratts too.
We are Orlando travellers. Tampa too. I was thinking of doing Universal this year. We do regular Disney trips, we have a motorhome and stay at Fort Wildrness, its a great time for us. I Love Chicago, we went there when I was prego with my first. Id like to hit the Virginia Mountains as a camping trip one year. and This year Id like to try to get to Assateague Island to see the horses on the beach.

Oh and my son is obsessed with Mighty Machines. watches it to unwind every night

      1. Jennifer

Once you hear that Mighty Machines theme song it sticks in your head forever. And ever!!!

  2. Chelsey

I am so happy you said Daniel tiger!!! I can’t stand that one and odd squad my son loves both but they drive me crazy.

Vegas is our go to vacation spot because it’s a close drive but we really love Newport Beach California and Santa Barbara we love them as much as Vegas, we are just more like locals in Vegas now so California feels more like a vacation to us

  3. Katie Sparks

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Gatlinburg so that’s our special place now. He loves the mountains and I love the beach but Gatlinburg was a nice mix for us. Scenery for him…lots of shopping for me! 🙂

  4. Jamie

I love Chicago! Some of my other favorites are Boston, San Francisco, San Diego, New York, DC, Denver has a lot of great outdoor activities (rafting, hot springs, etc.). I live in Tampa, and I would also highly suggest it! We go to Busch gardens all the time and have so much fun. They have a lot great animal exhibits and great rides.

  5. Kristin 2z

Now that I’m going to be singing Mighty Machines all day….

My favorite to watch when the kidlets were little was Pokemon and I think it was on the WB at the time just after school. So it was Pokemon with a snack and then homework.

US Vacation spot – Muskegon, MI so much to do camping, Irish Festival in September, sand dunes, horseback riding & fun at the Double JJ Ranch

  6. Susie Adair

Our kids are grown, but I used to watch the Doodle Bops with my granddaughter. I still know all the songs. Our very favorite place to go is Port Aransas. We go every year between Christmas & New Year. The island is really quiet then. We get the same condo every year. Spend the whole week walking the beach, golfing and eating seafood twice a day.

  7. Alexa

The one show that both of my kids (boy 9 yrs, girl 5 yrs) could agree on for the past couple of years is Phineas and Ferb. Now, they agree on The Brady Bunch 🙂 Our daughter has recently liked Paw Patrol, Miles From Tomorrowland, Sofia, and Sheriff Callie.

Our favorite vacation is our annual week at the beach – Oak Island, NC. We rent a house on the beach every year, and even in early June the water is warm. There is pretty much NOTHING to do except spend time on the beach, go out for ice cream, or miniature golf. It’s our chance to disconnect from the the real world 😉 This is where we’re staying this year. http://www.rentalsatthebeach.com/OakIsland/VacationRentals/WestBeach/Details/Sandlewood/

My mom loved Oak Island! and Southport. We have friends that live in both. We always do our annual beach trip to Myrtle Beach every year. This will be our first year without my mom, but we plan on making a special day trip to Southport to hunt sea glass. It was her favorite.

On the subject of San Francisco – we’re heading there in less than a month for business and then we’re staying to play- any restaurant recommendations? My birthday is the 23rd and we’ll be there for it. We’re staying right downtown.

  9. PA anna

    1. We don’t have cable/dish etc. I’ve been watching different Lego series with my 6 year old on Netflix and on DVDs.

    2. My family picks Chicago. I pick New England.

It’s been a crazy morning. One of our credit cards got hacked and there were lots of fraudulent charges last night. Most of our automatic payments go against this card so this is a mess.

  10. Megan

My boys are 6 and 2 and love yo gabba gabba, Sesame Street and odd squad. I enjoy those as well. My oldest has started watching Disney jr as well and I’m not impressed. Sheriff Callie and miles from tomorrow land are ok but the rest have terrible story lines.

As for vacations we are on the west coast so we have taken the kids to Hawaii a few times (Maui and Kauai) and that is amazing, but we also love going to the Oregon coast or Northern California for a road trip.

  11. Jennie

We LOVE Victoria, BC. 🙂 My kids would say they love New York City but for me I like to be somewhere a little quieter. 🙂

  12. Annie

The shows get SO much better as the kids get older! My son is 9 and all 3 of us (that includes dad) love Teen Titans Go, Regular Show and The Amazing World of Gumball. I cannot stand Uncle Grandpa though!

  13. lauren

My kids love love love caillou and daniel.. I HATES caillou with a passion =0 but it’s there favorite. And curious George .. those 3 are the only shows to hold there attention.

Max and Ruby is another one I loth. they watched it for a few but then both boys decided they wanted to act like Max and yell out one word sentences like hungry! busy! help! Constantly in a whiny voice OMG I put it on to that

  14. Jenny

Oh good ones. C loves Paw Patrol and its about all he will watch now. 🙁 N has moved up to the bigger kid shows so he always has on Lab Rats and Austin and Ally. Those are ok but can get annoying. I used to love when they watched Handy Manny and Phineas and Ferb. LOL I hate Calliou and Max & Ruby are so annoying. Oh C still likes Peppa Pig and Olivia but they aren’t the best either.
This one is so hard for me as we only really go to the beach and Disney 🙂 I have done San Diego before and loved that so I’d like to take the boys back. My brother is moving to Denver in May so I’m sure that will be a big vacation place for us soon.

  15. Jor

I am in my 20’s, but I still absolutely love Arthur. I also really like the magic school us (is this still on tv any more? If not, it should be!) Also, I discovered aquanauts a few years ago while babysitting and really like it. Maybe it’s the accents…

  16. Jill

My daughter(2.5) loves My Little Pony(which I love) and Jake and the Neverland Pirates(which I hate).

  17. Hannah

    1. I don’t have kids yet, but the longer my boyfriend waits to propose the sooner I’ll want to get pregnant after we get married 😉 but when I babysat a few years ago I loathed every kid show she watched. I hope the shows are better by the time I have a kid, but TV will be very minimal in our kids life. We’re both in our 20’s & we can’t believe how kids act these days, so we’re hoping ours will love the outdoors as much as we do

    2. Favorite city would have to be New Orleans <3 I also love NYC but haven't been in years, but I'm going this weekend! Favorite relaxing vacation would be any beach. We go to VA Beach mostly because it's the closest. And a Pigeon Forge, TN cabin getaway is nice in the Fall/Winter/Spring

  18. Alicia

Omg I am so surprised so many others said Gatlinburg or Piegon Forge! You never hardly hear anyone else talk about it. I live only 2 hours away and my whole family goes multiple times a year since before I was even born, and Dollywood of course! It’s definitely my favorite vacation spot. Also I hate Caillou as well, always have! My kids love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and I love watching with them!

  19. Melissa

My favorite vacation spot is the Adirondacks!! There’s a place there where you can “luxury” camp in cabins that have no running water or electricity, but they have fire places and gas stoves and refrigerators. I’ve never knew there were so many stars until I went up there… I hope someday to share it with my sister… who used to love Barney when she was little. I loved it too because it totally mesmerized her for an entire half an hour LOL!!

  20. Lindsay

I’m an odd duck I guess because I LOVE Daniel Tiger. My son is autistic and the meltdowns are going away because he uses Daniel’s songs to say how he’s feeling. Miles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are also popular.

I love Chicago but our favorite weekend getaway is Marquette in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We both went to college there and think it’s awesome with a family too.
