Dear Mom, Now I know why you don’t love sewing. It’s hard work!

Dear WB Please, please, please let’s get rid of this cold or whatever it is that is making your nose SO stuffy and making you so crabby! For the sake of both of us! Please!

Dear My Neighbors (well most of them anyway), You are the best! What do people without fabulous neighbors do?  I don’t know and I never want to find out.

Dear “The Closet”, Now that even B has mentioned how messy you are I guess I need to get you cleaned up. I am not looking forward to this.

Dear Target, Even I think I have visited you a few too many times in the last week.  I need to sort through this Lilly stuff and see what I need to keep and what needs to get returned and stop all this!

Dear The Next Target Designer Collaboration, Please don’t happen again for a LONG time. Or better yet, be a designer I don’t like. I don’t think I am ready for another round of this madness anytime soon.

Dear My Computer Update, Thank you so much for making all of my passwords disappear.  No idea what any of those are. How do people remember this kind of stuff?

Dear B, You are going to miss so much fun this summer!  Like the garage sale, planting ALL those flowers and a bunch of other amazing chores that need to be done.  I know you’ll be sad to miss them, but we will carry on all by ourselves.

Dear L, I love seeing what you bring home from the Ticket Store at school.  So much fabulous random stuff in that store.  I would have loved that when I was a kid!

Dear That Mom in Baltimore, Lady, you rock.  You totally 100% rock.

Dear This Weekend, I absolutely cannot wait for you!  I’m hoping for a good mixture of chores and fun, but I will happily put those chores off till next week if it works out that way.

I don’t know my passwords either. My computer is five years old and I have probably not entered some of those passwords in all that time. When I finally have to upgrade (and that day is coming — I am still running Snow Leopard), that will not be fun. Maybe I will keep the old laptop for paying bills!

Sneaky I don’t thing I ever knew your first name! I think all of mine are still on my desktop, but once I do the much needed update on that they will be gone too. I wonder if there is some way I can back them up to something from Keychain?

      1. Ragan

Haha, I started posting comments elsewhere with my real name and guess I forgot to go back to the screen name here. Easier to keep it all one way, though.

        1. Jennifer

You’ll always be Sneaky to me.

    1. Jennifer

I can’t find any plates around here! I found some bowls, but no sign of plates anywhere here!

  3. Rose D.

Please don’t return the Lily! My Target has NOTHING! List/picture it here and sell it for cost plus shipping. PLEASE!

      What are you looking for??

After reading your comment on the Baltimore mom I will no longer be visiting your blog. I respect your right to a different opinion, but I can’t in good conscience support it.
This is the first time you have mentioned Baltimore and instead of it being a comment on your disgust over the officer’s actions or sorrow for the victim’s family it was about a mother who along with her son made a spectacle out of the protests and took away from its message. The media (and you now are a part of the media) chooses to focus on the small percentage of people who riot and are violent, spending less time on the reasons that fuel that riot. These deaths have been piling up, so if people don’t want violence, instead of putting that on the oppressed, how about they change the system so young black men are protected instead of killed by the men in uniform.
“Those who make peaceful protest impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.” – JFK
The windows those bricks were thrown through can be replaced, but lives cannot. Yet for some reason we focus on the windows more and thus make them out to be more important.

I am sorry my comment upset you. I just happened to be watching the news when I was writing this last night and they were showing the clip.

I feel exactly the opposite of Cymbre. I love reading how similar you and I are about a lot of things esp. since I am in a totally different area of country (south), a woman of color (black), and childless. I interpreted your comment to be simply in support of another mom who was in line with both the police commissioner and the Grey family. He also praised the mother for taking immediate charge of her son and wished more parents did the same and the Grey family had requested no violence. The boy had been told the night before not to go, it was dangerous, and he did anyway. I too am proud of her going into a volatile situation and removing him, especially since he was in process of hurling a rock at police trying to stick with peace keeping because of the aggressors young age. When the mom was asked about how see felt about her actions after seeing video, she said,” oh my God,I lost it and my pastor is going to see it”. The Grey family was upset since that was the direct opposite of what they requested. As of a person of color, I’m often sensitive of the perception of black young men in mainstream America. I was so encouraged that most realized teenagers of all colors don’t always think and do the right thing. That most saw a positive in a sea of the negative, a mom unwilling to be tolerant of bad behavior. That is how I took you comment, that you like most, supported a fellow mom irregardless of color. I have read your blog daily for a year now, I see you as a woman who loves her family, her community, sharing her interests, and unfortunately the wrong sports teams :). Everyone of my family and friends are saddened by the death(s) recently and so very disappointed by the destructive actions of a minority of black men as a reaction to a minority of police officers actions.
In support, I am for the 1st time in my life, sharing your blog link with my entire list of family and friends. I see you as someone with whom I have a lot in common despite having a lot of differences. Keep it up, I need my daily dose of chuckles about your babies and target addiction.

        1. Jennifer

You said this 100x better than I could ever have! I totally agree. Totally 100% agree! Except on the sports team part of course ;).

I know it’s “frowned upon” but I have an encrypted spreadsheet for passwords. For work, I’ve always just used a notebook. Except at one job, where we had to change passwords practically every week. Then, I just used a sticky note under my keyboard.

    1. Jennifer

      I really should do that!

      1. laura r

I bought a small Lisa Frank notebook from Target’s $1 spot and have wondered what I’d use it for.. but it’ll be perfect for my new job!

  6. PA Anna

I keep my passwords in a password keeper book. It’s nice. It has the name, site address, login/username, password, and a note section. I can’t keep track of everything when it comes to passwords!

We will be working most of the weekend. The fields are drying out which means we can finally plow our fields. Our area is behind because of the wet weather recently.

    1. Jennifer

I really should do that. None of the passwords are for super secret stuff or anything so I should just write them down in one place.

  7. Amy

Can you please let us know what you’re going to return? If you have any of the stuff I’m looking for, I will gladly pay you for the products plus shipping & handling.

I loved that video of the mom in Baltimore! 🙂

    1. Jennifer

what are you looking for? I don’t have too mud exciting stuff! I have been trying to trade things I have for things I couldn’t find anywhere!!

  8. Jennifer (Notsousual)

Cymbre, as you can tell Jennifer likes to keep it pretty light hearted and fun around here. Just because she doesn’t voice her distain for what’s happening in Baltimore doesn’t mean she doesn’t care. I certainly don’t come here to find out about hard hitting news. A difference in opinion shouldn’t stop you from visiting this blog. I have many different opinions than others but it doesn’t mean I’ll turn my back on them just because it’s different than my own. Just sayin..

    1. Cymbre Martin

My point was that when she did comment on it, it was in a way that I was extremely disappointed with. There are many things that I can let go and agree to disagree with, but the loss of innocent life at the hands of the police, and the media coverage, is not one of them. I don’t expect her to comment on Baltimore, but when she did it was extremely insensitive to those affected.

Once I get that NP tank I think I’m set. The girl mailed the clutch and the towel today.. and I’m meeting up with a local girl at the Target at 8am on Sunday to see what she’s returning so I can get it… I have a sickness. I still would love to get my hands on a S NP button down blouse for grandma and the dark blue solid tunic in L or XL for mom… but I’ll live if I dont’ get them.

Granted I can’t promise that if I were to magically stumble upon something at my store (highly unlikely) I wouldn’t buy it.. but still.

See this comment? LOL it’s a commitment to stop wanting EVERYTHING. and that’s my final answer.

    1. Jennifer

I saw an NP button-down yesterday in the returns area, but it was an XL!

    2. Jennifer

I am so curious to hear what this girl is returning! I hope it’s fabulous stuff!

  10. Marla

My mom used to stress out so much when sewing when I was a kid, that my dad cringed whenever she had a project! Now, she quilts. She says it’s different. I think it looks like a lot of work

  11. HeatherP

Sooooo the comment on sewing being difficult… Does that mean we wont see a pics of these pillows? 😛 and :'(
I call myself a frustrated sewer and oh well i sew crooked and people still say they like it!!
And i know you dont need to hear it, but i still like to say it from time to time. I LOVE your blog and your comments. I feel like i can relate and even look to this blog for better ideas. So thank you.

    1. Jennifer

HA! No, they will be done eventually. It seems that the real issue for us is getting the machine all set up properly!

      And thank you!

  12. cindy

I would have loved the long sleeved button down in xl..and love to hear of your returns before u do so..not of course if u r trying to trade for something else but u mentioned returning..whats a ticket store

    1. Jennifer

The teachers give them tickets when they do something good at school. Maybe they are sitting nicely when the rest of the class is being crazy, their table cleans up the best, they are walking nicely the hall, etc.

I will post before I return!

  13. Kam

I agree, please don’t return your Lilly stuff!

I am looking for the green or blue tote and pineapple sandals in a 10. Also the hair bands with the pineapple and orange and gold bands. The scarf and towel in “sea urchin for you.”

    1. Jennifer

The totes are SO hard to find. So hard. I have the hairbands you can have though! The beach towel seems fairly locatable, but I have never spied any scarves during any of my Target travels.

  14. Kam

The Fenton Target had nail files, nail polishes and two tubes of orange lipstick as of a few days ago. But there weren’t a lot left.

I will double check on the towel with brick seek.

Thanks so much re: the hairbands. How would you like me to pay you?

    Argh the totes. Unicorns.

I just like pineapples and star fish… was never even aware of Lilly… and then you had to post pix of the best pineapple themed items I’d seen. Sigh… good job, Jen. 😛

    1. Jennifer

The totes are total unicorns! Where are they all hiding? This is the last weekend to return if you bought on launch day, so the returns should be coming in! I JUST saw a towel in that print a few days ago in Troy. If I see another I’ll snag it for you! I’ll be on the lookup for your other items too! I love a good Target hunt!
