Friday’s Letters

Dear Friday, It took you a long time to arrive this week, but I am very very happy to see you.

Dear Headaches, You suck. And Dear Allergies That Give Me Headaches, I hate you too. The older I get, the worse the allergies get. In a few years I won’t be able to leave the house all Spring.

Dear Old Friends, I love when we talk after months and months of playing phone tag, traveling and just being busy and don’t even miss a beat.

Dear My Cousin / Aunt, I am so glad you share the Lilly for Target love. Obviously this craziness runs in the family.

Dear Buddy, Sleeping on your Dad’s pillow is just fine right now, but when he gets home and realizes that his pillow smells like dog and you won’t move? Well, that will be another story.

Dear WB and L, Speaking of sleeping, let’s sleep in this weekend! Please!

Dear Technology, You are mind blowing! I can’t believe I am actually older than personal computers and cell phones. The boys are going to think I am a dinosaur when I tell them this.

Dear WB, Thanks for being such a good boy in the PTO Room this week. Just a warning – there’s more of that to come.

Dear Costco, I don’t know what I didn’t know this sooner, but you have the best pull over hoodies ever. I can only hope they are still there next time I go back!

Dear Telemarketers, Uhh no. I do not want an extended warranty on a lease car I turned in 5 YEARS AGO. But I am certain we will get another chance to discuss this considering that you call on the regular (and also insist you’ve never called me before). Update your list! That is not.my.car.anymore. Funny thing is we haven’t gotten this call on either one of our two cars that we do have right now. But that’s okay because we don’t want those super amazing extended warranties either.

Have you ever heard of Young Living Essential Oils? I was recently introduced to them and bought a starter kit. It has several oils to try in it and 3 are really supposed to help with allergies. It comes with a diffuser to put the oils in the air and make everything smell great and fresh. I know your love of candles 🙂 and this doesn’t even heat up and is totally safe around kids and pets. Might be worth checking out. They have a great website or let me know if you want more info. Hope you can get some relief!

Heather, that’s awesome! It’s like Christmas when the orders are delivered lol. If you love the thieves, you should try the cleaner. It’s really great. The starter kit is really amazing. I love them all but purification, stress away and lemon are my favorites.

Thank you!!! Im so excited to try the stress away. Im hoping for a nice calm after school when the kids blast me with thier energy. The purification seems interesting too. We do get some on and off coughs during allergy season so maybe ill move the diffuser around to help the kids out. I was also excited to do the diffuser by ny bed at night. I loooooooove lavender. I want an orb for my car too.

I made an insect repellant spray with purification, thieves and peppermint mixed with water and witch hazel. It’s worked great so far and I’m not worried about putting it on my kids.

It’s 10 drops EACH of purification, thieves, and peppermint mixed into 1 cup of water and 3 T. of witch hazel in a spray bottle. Hope it works for you. My email is meredithgilliam@hotmail.com if you have any questions. I’m happy to help!

I get crazy allergies in the spring as well but antihistamines make me feel (and act) drunk – I could not take them at work and mornings were terrible! Someone told me eating local honey helps and I like honey, so I gave it a chance. One teaspoon of Sleeping Bear Farms Raw honey a day (I’m Michiganian, so that’s a good local one for me) and in a week I noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement. Usually I put it in my coffee and have been for a while now, and while I occasionally get a sniffle or itchy nose I do not have the endless sneezing fits/watery eyes/headaches/unbearable itchy throat I have had since childhood.

You caught my attention with the Costco pull over hoodies…can you elaborate? Are they for women? Kids? I love me some good Costco finds!

Women! They are Kirkland brand. It’s just a thin pullover hoodie in fun bright colors! I swear it was only like $19.99 too!
