Hamptons Lane curates an amazing monthly box of artisan foods, kitchen tools, and serveware for the food lover. Boxes are $47/month and are revealed at the beginning of every month. Boxes are created around a monthly theme, such as Southwestern Fiesta, Summer Cocktail, The Best of BBQ, Coastal Italy, etc. Unlike most subscription boxes, you can skip the box if it doesn’t interest you during the first five days of that month.
I receive my Hamptons Lane box a bit early to review, but I believe that their boxes generally ship in the second half of the month.
I think this may be the smallest Hamptons Lane boxes I have ever received! Not a bad thing by any means though, just an observation.
The May 2015 Hamptons Lane theme was “Summer Picnic” and included the following items to help you elevate your outdoor dining experience:
~Pallares Solsona Olivewood & Stainless Steel Knife: I love when we receive fancy knives like these in subscription boxes. We use them constantly and they really aren’t something we splurge on. I also love that this one included a sheath. We don’t have any extra slots in our knife block and this is much safer to put in a drawer with a sheath on it.
~Bee’s Wrap 2 Beeswax Cloth Wraps: I am not sure how to describe this other than interesting. It’s like plastic wrap, only it’s totally different. It forms to whatever you needed sealed based on the warmth of your hand and you can reuse it. I like the idea a ton, but it does take some getting used to.
~Raw Tupelo Honey To-Go Pak Trio: These are single serving honey packets to take with you on the go. I don’t eat a ton of honey, but every once in a while I love it bagel. SO good.
~Mustard and Co. Garlic Dill Mustard: Mustard and tea are just about in the same category for me. Mustard might be even higher up there on my don’t love list. The information card does include a recipe for egg salad tartine using this which I probably could get into.
~Jan’s Farmhouse Cranberry Pistachio Crisps: Hmm, these are delicious! I suspect they are even better with a soft cheese on them.
I couldn’t find prices for everything so I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box. But I liked it! I do think a cute little picnic basket or a lunch sack would have rounded this out a big better, but I am happy.
