First Look

This was a fabulous first look! Beauty Box 5 is fairly hit or miss, but this looked like a hit.

The September 2015 Beauty Box 5 theme was “Fall: On Fleek” and included the following items:

~Elizabeth Mott Tints & Sass Lip + Cheek Stain (3g) ($6.90): This is very similar to Stainiac by The Balm and Benefit’s benetint.  It leaves a nice wash of color on your lips and / or cheeks and is super easy to apply. You just dab it on and go.  I found the staying power to be quite impressive on this.

~Beautiful Nutrition Lemon Rinse Gentle Clarifying Treatment ($2.70): There is no size listed on this package, but I am estimating that it’s about 3oz.  I love all things lemon scented so this is totally me.  It’s supposed restore “weightless body and shine”, but honestly if all it ends up doing is making my hair smell like lemons, I would be more than cool with that.

~Harvey Prince Sincerely Mini Roller (8.8mL) ($21): I wouldn’t say I am disappointed when I see Harvey Prince in subscription boxes, but I am also not overly excited.  It’s been in so many subscription boxes that it’s getting to the point of being overdone.  I do love it though.  Sincerely has notes of “cedarwood, freesia and orange flowers”.  It’s a nice mix of citrus and florals.

~Bellapierre Shimmer Powder in Snowflake (2.35g) (~$10): I don’t know for sure if this is the full-size or not since the bellapierre website doesn’t list the sizes of their products.  I estimated it at $10 to be conservative.  This is a fantastic shimmer and works as an eyeshadow or a highlighter.

~Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Crayon (The Boss) (2.5g) ($16): I suspect a variety of colors were sent out, but I am thrilled with this coppery brown color I received.  It’s fabulous! It goes on smoothly and is very easy to blend.  I am really happy with this!

All totaled I came up with an estimated value of $56.60 for the September 2015 Beauty Box 5 which is quite amazing considering the cost of the box. I am quire pleased with this box and hope this hot streak they are on continues!

I think that would be the most impressive BB5 ever! I subscribed for 6 months and the boxes were always forgettable or at the end just flat out terrible. The last couple boxes had free samples in them they were trying to pass off as having value.

I unfortunately signed up for a year. Worst sub box ever as I tend to throw most of it away (this box, I kept two items). The eye crayon was do damaged it was impossible to use.

Hey Laura! Kelsey at BB5 here! We’re bummed that your eye crayon from Be A Bombshell was damaged, but if you send us an email via help@beautybox5.com, we are more than happy to issue a replacement, free of charge! <3

I really loved the lip/cheek tint! I have been wanting to try one of those. So far I have used it on my lips and it looks like I stained my lips with berries-in a good way. I liked the staying power. It was weirdly wet though like applying water on my lips and dried nicely. I really want to wear balm or gloss over it to moisturize though since my lips felt a tad dry-because I love balm. I will try that and see if it affects the staying power. I got a white eye crayon. It is a nice bright white and makes a great highlight for the eye. The perfume smelled so bad on me. It must be my chemistry. I can wear some perfumes that no one likes except they like it on me, and then others, like this, smell like ammonia or just off.
